A crewman, working on the new Batman movie, was killed in an accident while following the Batmobile.

Sounds to me like they were doing test footage with the cameraman standing in the back of some guys truck and wiped out. Not smart.
Ya can't chase down the batmobile.

Very sad.
I work on camera cars all the time and they can be very dangerous places.
This sounds more like a camera on another type of vehicle. Real camera cars aren't that maneuverable.
Unfortunatly, film fatalities happen far more than they should.
I know of a guy dying on the first Spiderman.
I also know of a guy dying a few years ago on a movie called Dinosaur.
I personally know a guy from Chicago who was filming in a helocopter that flew into some power lines and crashed. The guy survived, but didn't walk for 18 months. Fortunatly, he now seems to be doing alright and is working again. Very lucky guy.
