Looking for info on what would be best motor for dirt oval mod edm?
What would be close to 9 or 10 turn brushed?

Thanks

As far as Novak motors probably a 5.5 would be closest.

I'm running an 8X5 on a 365 ft run line dirt oval and am pretty even with a guy running a 6.5 (sprint cars, not EDM). He has occasional problems with thermal shutdowns.

I am running two Novak BL Systems at 5.5 in my 4WD Late Model and a 6.5 in my Krazel EDM... running a 12.28 final drive with buggy tires.

During this part of the year the local race track (265 ft driveline) is notorious for getting real dry and slick during the summer months.

The car is easy to drive for the win! I need to change my gearing to 12.75 or so, as I spend to much time off throttle to suit me. Anything more than a ginger application of the throttle lites up the tires.

When off throttle the 6.5 offers no drag like a brushed motor... I am pondering the idea of using drag brakes.

I've been using a 4.5 novak in an edm running in the central PA area. I can run with anything including the nitro cars. My step-son is using the Mamba 7700 and he tends to be out of control with so much power. The novak 4.5 seems to be about a 9 turn power, the mamba 7700 is about a 4 turn power.

I have been running a 3.5 novak in my TC3 in wedge, car is cartoon fast, all the power you could ever want, no thermal probs.
