I had a friend tell me that he saw a couple of 1/4 scale sprints on display in the front grandstand area at Eldora yesterday.
I ended up staying in the pits most of the night and did not get a chance to go up and visit. Just curious who it was and how was the crowd reaction to it?

Sonny. Mike Stuchell and myself (Fred Murry) were responsible for that display. We had two sprint cars on the table and a computer running videos of 1/4 scale races. We set up early Friday and Saturday and had the display going up to the first heat races each day. The response was great. We passed out close to 300 pieces of paper with the QSAC web site info and with contact information for Mike, Myself and Randy Baker. We plan on doing more displays in the future. We were not there to sell cars just to sell (promote) the sport. We had some very serious people talk to us about getting cars and where to race. One of my opening lines was, this is affordable racing and Mike told people that no matter how bad you wreck one, you can still go to work on Monday. Personal note: I think going to work on Monday is disgusting. Many of the people we talked to ask where they could see a race so we ask them where they lived and then told them of the nearest track. Most common response was "WOW thats just a few miles from where I live. A fellow from Flat Out magazine ask Mike to send him some photos and some details about 1/4 scale racing and he would publish it in the magazine. Now thats exposure. I would like to thank Tony Stewart and Larry Bose for the opportunity that they gave us to display our cars and sport. Mike and I will be sending a written letter to thank them. We hope to be back at Eldora Speedway again next year. They were very hospitable toward Mike and myself. Photos are in my gallery. I will try and post them to this thread if I can remember how.

Very nice Fred & Mike! ........That's a GREAT way to get the word out about Q-scale! We did the samething a few years back @ Sharon Speedway. It was BIG hit!

You guys are AWSOME!!!! Nice job, and let me know what I can do to help the next time you do something like this. Maybe we can do the same thing at Toledo and Flatrock speedways with Sprints, Full body cars, and trucks.
