Are the numbers all hand painted on them?
plankowner 09-22-2007, 03:58 PM I have actually seen two Greenlight cars in the stores still sealed in the BP's with hand written numbers on them. Almost bought one just because it is a rarity. I believe Bill out in Colorado has seen a couple like this as well.
nascar4al 09-22-2007, 05:01 PM Thats a nice car with the flames. Strange on the hand written #. 1237 kinda high number for a green machine.
macnut 09-22-2007, 08:01 PM I agree with Al. That is a high number for a Greenie. And I have also seen hand numbered cars at K-mart before. I know that's no help.
69camaro 09-23-2007, 05:23 PM I agree strange number for a green machine. All the new ones that I've seen had the 3 digit numbers stamped on them.
THAINFAMOUS1 09-23-2007, 06:21 PM pretty cool conversation piece at the least. Cant understand why it would have 4 digits.
GeraldE61 09-23-2007, 07:12 PM Maybe everyone should open theres and see what is on the bottom? I would, but I don't have any.
wlpaul 09-24-2007, 12:54 AM I've seen some regular cars with hand written #'s as well, but never a GM with that high of a #.
...You get a Carfax on that puppy when you purchased it? It may be a repaint from down south.:p
moparmarc 09-24-2007, 02:47 PM Very Interesting?
Maybe someone from GL will post here and give there 2c?
Maybe someone at the factory was getting let go and before they got caned had some fun with some cars before they got sealed up
TheDarkCutlass 09-24-2007, 03:45 PM maybe they over ran the cars and hand wrote duplicate numbers on the overruns instead of trying to reset the stamping machine to do random numbers? and when they did that, not paying attention that the green ones had low numbers?
silverzx3 09-27-2007, 05:58 AM The GM Challenger Concept I found yesterday has a hand written #045 First one I've found so I assumed all the GM's were hand numbered.

I'd rather not have a number in this case.
Cletuss 10-11-2007, 10:30 AM It is a bit confusing but from what i understand is...
Just an example: if there is 100 Greenmachines in a run it doest mean the number will be between 1-100, In the case from above with number 1237 greens could have started at 1200 and ended @ 1300.
Im not so sure about this but maybe as well..even possibly randomly inserted in the run, meaning one greenie could say 1237 and another of the same car could be 0800. Sound confusing it is, but according to them and using example above..no matter what car says they run is still Only 100.
Yes, I agree its Confusing, My same car has 099

GeraldE61 10-11-2007, 11:51 AM We went through the same thing on JLs when they were numbered, never made sense. What do the numbers mean anyways? More Value? I don't think so. If you could read the posts on the JL board about numbering, you'd really be confused.
