Just got my slider the other day and had a few questions for those who have raced them. What seems to be the best race length 4 or 5 minute. Can you use a personal trans with it and where did you put it.

View Full Version : Losi Slider Questions? SDL98 09-20-2007, 07:55 PM Just got my slider the other day and had a few questions for those who have raced them. What seems to be the best race length 4 or 5 minute. Can you use a personal trans with it and where did you put it. matt_s86 09-21-2007, 12:16 AM We run 4 minute races...not too trusting of those stock battery packs. If everyone upgrades, 5 minutes should be fine. With brushless and a 1400 pack my car can go probably 20 minutes! Dunno about mounting a personal transponder, but we mount the track ones on the left side panel. I think a personal might fit on the chassis in the same location as we put the other transponders since they're so much smaller. Matt SDL98 09-21-2007, 07:30 PM Thanks Matt. Was wondering about run time with the 1100 pk I ordered a couple of 1400 pks KOZ 10-05-2007, 10:13 PM 1100's won;t make time (5minutes) in high bite conditions We have gone to 1400's ,way more voltage and plenty of runtime. You also need to change the stock plug they fail and can get hot and short speedo. We have mounted the personal on top of the receiver huffrcman 10-06-2007, 05:54 AM We have no problems running 5 minutes, I even had 60 seconds of battery left @ 5 amps. philb1 10-08-2007, 08:23 PM Didn't dump the pack after the run, but 5 minutes OK on 180 ft carpet oval, only issue had was brushes hanging up in several cars. Sprint 2B 10-12-2007, 09:34 PM we are having brush problems, what do you suggest with these (out of box an race motors)!!. I have a ice charger what should charge an discharge settings be? HobbyPLEX 10-12-2007, 11:00 PM We did some testing tonite. Found gearing down to the 16T pinion with the IB cells keeps the motor cooler and runs comparable to the 18T pinion with stock 1100mah battery. No problems with five minutes. We'll try tomorrow under race conditions to see if this holds up. Tim Ski KOZ 10-13-2007, 01:06 AM 13500 trinity brush, add spring tension, huge difference.u will dump a 1100 pack in high bite conditions. Sprint 2B 10-13-2007, 08:28 AM thanks koz for your input Sprint 2B 10-17-2007, 12:57 PM how did racing go sat.guys? nutz4rc 10-20-2007, 02:50 PM We ran seven last Saturday night. High bite oval carpet. No one dumped in 4 minute heats and we ran 5 minute main also without anyone dumping. We will start this week running a 60 lap feature not based on time. Stock motor is OK if you straighten out the brush shunt wires so they don't hang up on the hoods. We have some running the stock 1100s, some 1400s, and some 1600s. We run box stock with the only change being titanium turnbuckles. Sprint 2B 11-07-2007, 01:59 PM thanks, guys for your info i tq,won both heats,an a-main.7cars,expect more this weekend.TQ time 4.45 on carpet in wisconsin tri-clone.thanks  L4OvalRacer 11-26-2007, 04:50 PM It looks like a 4minute run is better. Put the Personal in the wing. nutz4rc 11-26-2007, 07:52 PM I put my personal under the front hood with velcro. The only issue is the hood is then tethered to the car with the personal plugged in. Just remember to lay it aside and not jerk if off the car. wait a minute 12-15-2007, 01:36 AM on my rent a ride slider i take a small piece of velcro and mount it to the battery hold down. if i have to use a house transponder i usually just put it on left side between the body panel and the battery. MIDWESTRC 12-15-2007, 11:59 AM Mounted personal trans. to the battery hold down with a counter sunk 4-40 and locknut using the holes already there. Works great. J-Dub Racing 12-15-2007, 07:24 PM What adjustments does the DSM radio have? Can you dial out steering? holeshot19 12-15-2007, 08:06 PM What adjustment :woohoo: :woohoo: s does the DSM radio have?
