I recently was handed down a lot of trains from my grandfather when he passed, many of which are still in the original boxes. Some are more recent than other but I would like some help identifing the "rare" ones if any from the main stream. On with the pictures

the top engine and coal tender its hard to tell what it is. a bottom view would have helped
its a parts engine and tender by the looks of it not worth much
the tyco
model power
and bachman
are common at any large model railroad show
you see them in the 2 dollar to 5 dollar range
the blue sante fe engine i see them anywhere from 20 dollars up to about 75 depending on condition the sante fe are common
the bottom engine looks to me like a toy train set engine maybe tyco or bachman its missing the railing its a very common engine
if you compare it to the other sante fe engine you can see the blue engine has a metal railing a little better detail and a lot better motor

the couplers on all of the cars are toy train couplers which model railroaders dont use or very seldom buy that kind of model they have no detail .

as for the papers no idea the internet is full of that kind of thing

The Steam engine is made of brass looks like. I'm not sure about HO scale but in O guage the brass stuff goes for alot of money! It is still only a parts engine though so it wont get as much. I would say the best one is the Blue Santa Fe engine, the rest look like toys to me.

Tim: The other postings I have read under your thread are correct. The Athearn engine is the only viable engine. The old steamer might be worth 30 to 40 bucks if you find the right buyer. The Athearn engine sells regularly between 20 and 40 bucks. The freight cars are all cheap junk worth a buck or two each. Good luck.
