Hey guys we are going to race at a new track in Georgia on 9/29/07. :woohoo: The track in a new facility built for quarter midgets. We have a shot at getting to run here two weekends out of the month. Are they any of you that may make the trip and have a blast with us. I will see if I can get some pics to post but this is one bad a$$ track. About 400 foot run line and high bank concrete. It has soft walls and a very nice parking area. The track is off of I-85 Exit 129 going south you would turn right and go about three miles and track is on right at Lanier National Speedway. Hope some of you can make the trip and if you can't I will see you all at freddie's on the 6th. Entree fee is $20.00

Sorry guy it took so long to get back with you. Yes I was told there is an A and B transponder system in place. The banking is about 12 to 15 degrees. We are working on a driver stand on a trailer so it can be moved out of the way. I hope we have a good croud and every one likes it. I would like to have a NCS race in a couple of year there. It is a very nice track.

I'm going with L30's and cat 410. The track is not rough it may run L20's and 405 or C5.

Echeconnee
09-20-2007, 08:22 AM
I have everything but the 405 but the concrete should have enough bite where the 410 or C-5 should work fine. I am looking forward to it.

jeffdavis38
09-20-2007, 09:27 PM
Gates open at 9:00AM. Racing starts at 12:00PM. Hope to see all of you there. We will be running 1/4 scale Sportsman and GN. Also running 10th scale .09 and .12 classes. This race is kinda a exabition race. The entry is $20.00. We are working on getting to race there two weekends a month. Maybe we can work it out to rotate with Alabama so all of you guys can come up and race.

I put a post on RC oval.com, maybe some of the guys from up that way will come down, and get Scott and the Bama boys to come on over. If they are not scarred being that close to Athens! Go DOGS!!!

CRAP CRAP CRAP CRAP!!!!

You guys are killing me!!

Cliff go get it scoped out for us.

What are the track specs? Do they have a loop? Personal transponders required?

jeffdavis38
09-20-2007, 10:36 PM
Yes you will need a transponder. The run line is about 400 feet. Very nice facility. If you have a genorator bring it they havn't got all the power run yet.

I wish there was more notice about this, no way I can make it this weekend. I still have to repair the car from the last outing.

We are racing on the 29th of this month not this weekend.

garacer08
09-20-2007, 11:13 PM
Im not sure about the exact run line, but I was talking to Robert Hillard tonight and I think it may be a little longer than 400'. May be wrong but I was winding out my .09 about half way down the straights tonight with my Easley gear ratio. It may be 400' around the bottom half of the track. I will try to get a measurement on the 29th unless I can contact someone before then.

NOTICE This race is being held on 9/29/07.

We are racing at Easley this weekend 9/22/07 if anyone can make the trip. We would love to have all of you.:woohoo:

Thats cool I'm just guessing I have seen the track one time and havn't got to run on it but the banking may be were you are running out of gear. You will carry a lot more corner speed at this track than Easley. The infield is the same length as Easley but a little wider. The track is wider also. Don't know but we will see on the 29th. See you there.

Nice!! Looks like a flatter version of the Mini Indy 1/4 midget track that we use to run on a few years ago. Should make for some great racing.

Good luck...

I would like to next season. I better hit a local race first before I get too much abuse from my buds.

Really trying to gear up for next year but I plan take my sprinter to Machesney next week for a shakedown run.

Good luck with the sprint. I would like to get the sprint class going in this area. Just not anyone enterested in it much. Just a bunch of door bangers around here.

Those rumble strips look to have been laid after the crete was poured. Could they be removeable? If not, I agree with Marlin...trouble for all scales.

garacer08
09-21-2007, 09:01 AM
I brought that up last night at the track. we did have a 1/4 scale hit them with no damage. I think Robert Hellard has looked at making a removable wall for the turn to keep us from hitting them. This will probably not happen before sept 29, unless Jeff knows something I don't. I don't think the strips will be to bad. There is actually some room for era there and the strips are like ramps so its not like hitting a wall. It kind of brings back memories of the cow bells on the inside at Whiperwheel!

Yeah those ORANGE TRIANGLES look like they could "launch" a car.

A PVC prtable wall would be easy to do and anchor in the grass.

I am going to try to make it.

Hey Jeff, if your going to run two weekends at the new track in GA which track in SC u not going to run at? Something up with Clover or still feeling like redheaded child at Easley.
I will be runniug every were. SC, GA, and AL. All four tracks sound good to me. Need to promote the sport and make it grow. We have got to get new people into the sport and that is what we are going to do. New people have got to see the cars run in new areas to make it happen. So I hope everyone will come down to GA. this weekend (9/29/07) and lets show them a good race and have alot of fun.
