View Full Version : NEW Revell Monogram BMW 320i & SCX Ferrari 360 GTC 1/32 Slot Cars... BRS Hobbies 09-18-2007, 04:52 PM These slot cars just arrived a week or so ago. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v500/BRSHobbies/NEW.jpg Best regards, Brian Pete McKay 09-18-2007, 10:52 PM I have both of the liveries for the SCX Ferrari 360 GTC, they are about the best handling cars I've found sans magnets. The compact nature of the 360 allower faster times through the corners than the SCX 550 and Scalextric 575's. Plus the amber lights coming down the long straight are really cool. PD2 09-19-2007, 05:06 AM Definitely like the 360 myself! I have the NINCO regular kit (non Pro Race version) and even that kit, without the magnet, is hooked up. Really like the looks of the car too. Fantastic racer and the way the body is made or style probably lends itself such that any manufactured version is an excellent racer. SWEET cars! PD2:thumbsup: Pete McKay 09-19-2007, 11:47 AM I'm planning on doing a compo between the SCX Ferrari 360 GTC and the Scalextric Ferrari 430 Ecosse in the very near future. So far though the SCX car has its evolutionary stablemate beat both with and without magnets. So far though the SCX car has its evolutionary stablemate beat both with and without magnets. Now that's very interesting! I personally do not own any SCX cars. What I have always been told about them, with the exception of the Audit Pro car, they are all very heavy and usually more heavy than the Scalextric counter part. I'll definitely be interested to hear your findings Pete! PD2:thumbsup: Pete McKay 09-20-2007, 11:34 AM PD2, I'm trying to get a couple of different tracks tested before I publish any conclusion. I qualified my 360 GTC 4th and finished 4th in a 2 hour enduro last weekend, I also qualified the 430, both without magnets. The 430 seemed faster on the straights but the weight without the magnets helped the 360 corner better. More to come later, but the SCX 360 GTC is a really good buy. Well, I'll definitely be interested to hear your results. Really like those 360's and ever since NINCO came out with theirs it looks like a blanket license release was given to Scalextric and SCX to follow suit. PD2:thumbsup: Martin Simone 09-21-2007, 03:03 PM The Ninco 45° drive Ferrari 360 in kit form is faster than the SCX 360 by a pretty good margin. For a bit more money you can get true horsepower and handling, although the SCX and Scalextric bodies seem a bit more scale. I didn't kake the enduro in Fresno but I have raced here in Bakersfield against them with better drivers than I and held my own pretty well. Pete McKay 09-21-2007, 04:49 PM There was an angle winder Ninco F360 that qualified for the enduro, he started 5th and finished 7th. His gears went away after about 45 minutes. I didn't see that his times were any better than anyone elses. BTW, the Enduro was won by a Scalextric TVR T400R with bronze gears and a stock motor. Going fast wasn't the order of the day, being consistant was. Ragnar 09-21-2007, 05:04 PM There was an angle winder Ninco F360 that qualified for the enduro, he started 5th and finished 7th. Going fast wasn't the order of the day, being consistant was. The guy probably left a lot of side to side play in the rear axel, that will destroy an anglewinder gear. I set up my Nincos so that they only have a slieght amount of clearance, just enough so that the axel doesn't bind. I have no problems with gears. For that matter you should setup all of your cars that way. Tom Pete McKay 09-21-2007, 10:29 PM Tom, yeah and I do. Just the slightest amount of mesh, not tight at all. BTW Brian also sells the anglewinder F360, something I'm looking at now too. PD2 09-22-2007, 06:32 AM Going fast wasn't the order of the day, being consistant was. That always seems to be the case. The first few times I took my daughter out to race (who was 6 at the time) she beat several guys in the race that were traditionally fast - and this was in LeMans! What was her fastest lap time? Maybe 14 seconds around a 122' wood track with Scalextric spacing! Why? Because she not deslotted. Heck, one race, she even beat me! But she never beat me in the points! HA! She was consistent and never went off the track, fish tailed or slid all over the place. Consistency has its place outside of speed.
