Cool car, with a really baroque-esque grill (hm, I'm not sure that I wrote this correctly  ). Looks wonderful! And I especially like the clean pictures.

Thanks Superbird77. I'll see if I can dig out a few more old Packards.

Do it! I just love me a Packard!
That certainly is long on charm, but does that one look a little short to you Stutz?
I'd still buy it though.

Baroque-esque, definitely!

I gotta admit, it does look like the wheelbase was altered. :dude:

And for buying it........I did several years ago. :p I guess it was the 3 beer bottle openers on the rear fenders that intrigued me. :drunk:

This is a similar 1951 Packard, but it's a Mayfair model Lummox. I guess they were a short wheelbase car.

Here's more pics to compare.

Thanks for the bonus pics Stutz, very helpful.
As a long time body man I think I'm hypersensitive to a line or a proportion that is
ever so slightly off. It doesn't take very much and all these little synapse in my brain
go completely hay-wire and I stare at the pic, then refer to one of my books or a linc
and I don't stop till I figure out what's going on!
Crazy? Obsessive? Probably, but it's part of what I actually enjoy believe it or not!

You're right, the wheel-base is quite short on those. Especially from the A-post to the rear end.
I'm sill not sure, but the model may be slightly tall proportionally.
Thanks again for the extra pics.
Have a Johnny night! ;)

lummox is sniffing to many paint fumes
i know what he means when you do bodywork
and restore cars you have a habit of everything has to be perfect the car looks a tiny bit out of proportion
but still a nice model
