Thanks Bryan and Big Dog. I've raced some many times down at CRCRC when looking through the pictures they all start to look the same.

Big Dog
09-21-2007, 07:59 AM
They are defnatly NOT the same. The pic do not do the track justice. The current track is nothing like CRCRC has ever ran b4. So many elevation changes....

signpro.... All you need to race at CRCRC is your car/truck/buggy,$$, and your pit stuff. The tables, chairs, electric, and track is all provided. Paper is work is when you sign in.

We are working the details out right now for the mod class. The outlaw truck class will be offered. It will be any motor, BL or Brush, any battery, NiMH or LiPo up to 4900, and 20 min main.

Is the 4900 MAH set in stone?

I only ask because I am looking at new Lipo batteries and Maxamps make a 5000 MAH pack that is the size I would like. I was hoping there might be a 100MAH worth of "wiggle room". If not I can get the 4000MAH pack but I figure it doesn't hurt to ask. Especially since it sounds like you are still in the planning stages.

Thanks,

Chris

Chris,

So far the limit being said is 4900. You know that nothing is ever set in stone....

Thanks Big Dog.

I was hoping the 5000 would be legal but if you guys end up with a 4900 limit then I'll have to plan accordingly.

Not to be pushy but any word on when this will be finalized?

Thanks again,

Chris

For what it's worth I did a little research (mainly to see if I could find a 4900MAH pack) and here is what I came up with around 4900MAH.

Orion 4800MAH
Track Power 4900MAH
Maxamps 5000MAH
Racers Edge 5000MAH
Schumacher 5000MAH

All the others I found were in the 3200-4000MAH range. Maxamps does make some 4200's but they are an odd size and would require spacers to fit the cars properly.

Just some food for thought.

Oh, I keep forgetting to mention I am more interested in the normal Mod Buggy and possibly Mod Truck classes than the outlaw deal. Will the MAH rules carry over to those classes as well?

Sorry to be a pain in the behind but I am trying to get all my stuff for the winter season gathered up and don't want to buy something that will not allow me to come and race with you guys!!!!!!!!!

Thanks,

Chris

Chris thanks for the info. I did not relize that there were that feew of 4900 and under batteries. I will push for the 5000 limit.

The way it looks the mod truck and outlaw truck will be the same rules, however the outlaw truck will run and single 20 min Amain and the mod classes will run 7min triple A mains.

6000mah has been pretty much the standard for off road lipo. If you are going to cap the mah it should be 6000. A novak 6.5 will only last 22min on a Maxamps 6000mah lipo if you are going to run 20min on 4900 you will need to run 13.5 or another slow motor. All of the pro truck (brushless/lipo) guys run Maxamps or Thunder Power 6000 or 8000 mah lipo batteries.

Thanks Big Dog.

Hope the info helps. Doug's input (badassrevo) should add value as well since he and David have been running 6.5 motors in their truck for some time know.

How many 2wd mod buggy drivers average your track on a weekly basis?

Big Dog
10-09-2007, 04:13 PM
So far since the weather has been very nice in the area the indoor season has started off slow. I foresee it getting better soon though.

2wd Mod right now is seeing about 2 heats, I expect it to increase though.

I am not sure if I read it correctly but on the CRCRC forums they state that battery capacity (for MOD/Outlaw) is not limited no matter what the make-up (NiHM, LiPO etc).

Now I can order my pack!!!!

6000 Max Amps here I come:woohoo: :woohoo:

So your website has the wrong info?

It states under the rules that there is no limit on MAH for the MOD classes. Has this been changed?

Are these rules for normal club races or the big race or both? Sorry for all the questions but I am just trying to see if I will be able to race with you guys or not.

I guess I just don't really understand limiting the capacity of the packs in MOD. I only use about 100-1100 MAH in a 5 minute qual at Medina and about 2000 MAH in a 10 minute main so even with "only" 4900 MAH I would still have capacity to spare. The only difference is I already have the larger packs!!!

Sorry to be a pain just thought I had figured out what I needed by looking through your forum.

That is what I am NOT wanting to do!!!

But it looks like that might be what is needed to run......

Can I ask why you are putting a Cap on capacity in 2wd mod? It makes no difference in power whether you have a 4800 or a 8000. I have a 6000 so I would be forced to buy a track power or Orion pack for the Midwest race.

I think if they allowed more then 4900 in mod why have a outlaw class.. I know it sounds funny but it makes sence...
