My vote would be Sulu. Why? Because there are few movies that aren't improved with the addition of a young Asian woman.

The cast is certainly starting to look the part. Seems like very competent selections so far. Still very curious to see who's finally going to do Kirk and McCoy now. I understand they're also trying to sweet talk Russel Crow into being the main baddie. I think this is the swift boot in the arse that the series needs!

The way the new "Hip" trend is(not in my eyes), I wouldn't be suprised if they made Kirk and McCoy Women! Then they would make Capt. Pike a Woman!!!!! I really hated what they did to the new Galactica. Starbuck a woman???

Yea, at first though I was hoping she'd still be a cigar-chomping womanizer! :lol: But Katie has really done well & taken the roll to be her own- not a ripoff of the first Starbuck, though she did smoke a few cigars!

IIRC, the entire Enterprise crew temporarily switched genders because of some weird genetic phenomenon or other. Now, THAT would have made an interesting episode!

If Halle Berry can be cast as Storm, she's certainly black enough for Uhura.

Naomi Harris was the actress from "Pirates" and was also in the "Miami Vice" movie as well as "28 Days Later".
