New thread for a new season! First race is Saturday OCT 27th. :woohoo: The track is open Friday night the 26th for practice. The schedule is up on the website www.triclone.net The turnout last year was GREAT, and we should see more of the same this year!

Any news on what classes will be run ?

I know the sheet Dave passed out said 13.5 and 4300 -- is there going to be a 17.5 class ?

Thx !

I think the track would be better off if you stuck to two regular pan classes and late model. Not that it matters since I'm not there anymore.

Just asking, Pat ... for those of us who are here.

I know Jeff. I was just making a general statement. I had heard there would most likely be a 17.5 class.

I heard a ** RUMOR ** of that too... just trying to get the word on it for sure. I'd like to run it of they are. If not, 13.5 is fine too.

Where does the 17.5 fall in as far as speed with the 4300 and the 13.5, I am asking because I haven't heard of them. All summer we were racing our 1/4 scale so I missed those motors!!!....

I have run it a couple times out here. They are very similar to a good 4 cell stock motor.

So it's slower than a 13.5???...

Yes. More winds = slower. Just like brushed.

Yup.. a bit.

This class was also added to the BRL this season.

Sorry but I guess I am not that up to speed on how they name these motors and why they have such different numbers (IE: 5800, 4300, 3.5, 4.5, 13.5, 17.5) so it's confusing as to what is what with this system...
I guess you would need to be some kind of electric wizzard to understand all of these numbers, way to confusing for a regular racer!!!...

Sorry, I wasn't trying to be a smarta** if you thought so.

They ditched the 4300 and 5800 naming convention in favor of naming them by the number of turns of wire. It is just like brushed racing now, i.e. 27 turn, 19 Turn, 6 turn etc.
4300 = 10.5
5800 = 8.5

I'm guessing that everyone is going to start out with just 13.5 and 10.5(4300) and we'll just see how it goes. There will probably be a few 17.5 to start.

I know of a few guys that said they were going to run 17.5 so we'll just have to see how the season goes. The racers will run what they want and it'll all sort itself out. As long as theres enough to run a class they'll race them. I think they are planning on running the Losi Mini Sliders as well.

Slowest:
17.5 (4cell stock speeds)
13.5 (Faster than stock speeds)
10.5 (4300) (faster than 19T)
4.5 (mod speeds)
3.5 (mod speeds)
Fastest

Thx Hays...

I'll run 17.5 then when there are enough for a class, otherwise 13.5.

Seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee ya there !

I'm guessing that you'll get the chance to run 17.5 against the HYPERDRIVE/EXPRESS Erdmann tag-team once or twice this winter..... If they show at all?? Might want to make plans for traveling to Dubuque IA to run 17.5 regularly.....

The latemodel class is being finalized. I "believe" there will be little change from years past. Nice melting pot of different style bodies and chassis for this lap format class. A final meeting between myself and Dave J is coming up.

Anybody out there that runs the Late Model class? I have a few questions about the body rules and what everyone runs.

MIDWESTRC
10-09-2007, 10:51 PM
Hitman-98, most of them are running McAllister Terra Haute or Tuscon bodies

Hitman-98
10-10-2007, 12:34 PM
I have a Tuscon ready to go, but what about the spoiler? I heard 2", but are they running just a 2" blade or are they running the side dams?

MIDWESTRC
10-10-2007, 01:06 PM
Not sure on the height, but some people run with side dams and some without.
