May have a sticking float. Remove the float bowl and look for any sticky build up in the bottom and on the float. Clean up with carburetor or brake cleaner and reinstall the float bowl. If it continues to leak out fuel then you may want to check the float to see if it has any fluid in it, may also need the inlet seat replaced.

Removed bowl and float was stuck. Did some cleaning, reassembled gassed it up but it now won't continue to run. The leak did stop. The ring had freedom of movement. What next? Thanks ver_ much.

The bowl nut that you took out to remove the float bowl is probably plugged up. Remove the nut and make sure the orifice is clean and open, this is most likely the problem.

OK, cleaned pin in carb bowl. engine starts, runs, with help of starter fluid. and sustains itself. Problem now is no r_thum. The idle see saws and it appears once it's actuall_ put to use it would stall. Is it the pin adjustment? Is it called a pin? Thanks again.

From what you are describing, I would have to say there is some build up in the carburetor that is restricting the fuel delivery. The low speed circuit seems to be causing some of the problem, but the high speed side may also be partially restricted as well, as it should start without the need of any starter spray.

I think it's time for the carburetor to come off and be completely cleaned out, possibly may need to soak in a bath type cleaner and a rebuild kit installed.

OK, must remove entire carb and clean. What are the do's and don's. Where do I detach from. Can I clamp like hemostat the gas line so I don't have to remove it also? Removing the whole carb usuall_ has its unique procedures/problems. I am challenged. Thanks
