disruptor10 09-16-2007, 05:55 PM how did u all make out yesterday ?
Todd Putnam 09-16-2007, 06:10 PM Well, we ran the first race program last night- wow, what a facility!!!
Here's some of the highlights:
-Mike's wife Chrissy and her Dad had a TON of food, (as in FILLED the back of a SUV) ranging from home-made Chili to burgers, dogs, chips, cookies, candy, etc; (us fat guys like food...http://dirtoval.com/forums/images/smilies/biggrin.gif )
-The track has so many lights the track looks like a stadium-
-The asphalt paved infield and pit road are really nice touches-
-A moist, power-troweled smooth surface with gobs of bite-
-There are 3 rows of pit benches- (1) that's 100' long and (2) others are 40' each-all coplete with power and lights-
-The pit / scoring shed is completely wired for the scoring system, and it worked awesome-
-The pits have crushed stone spread throughout-no muddy or wet feet, and when you set your pit boxes or hauler bags on the ground, they stay clean and dry too!
-Many interested spectators and lots of questions and answers in the pits.
-The owner of the Holiday Inn in Johnstown was there most of the night and offered any support he could for discounted rates, etc; for out of towners as well as for big races- http://dirtoval.com/forums/images/smilies/thup.gif
-A stocked hobbyshop for trackside support- BSR Tires, our complete line of Putnam Products with a Custom Works order on the way as well-
-LOSI SLIDERS!!! Mike had 20 left in stock yesterday when I arrived, with a complete line of parts and aftermarket hop ups, motors, brushes, etc-
-Run line of about 170' - 180', fast laps in stock were 4.6's 4.7'- that's moving!!!
You gotta check this place out-too cool!
Between Master Hobbies Track, Competition Hobbies Track, Kirt's Pine Bowl and Big Mike's, it sure is nice not to have to leave the Capital District to race at some of the nicest dirt oval facilities I've visited anywhere-awesome!!!
johnqpublic 09-17-2007, 09:01 AM Todd sent me a pic via cell phone yesterday. Track looks great all lit up!
Any chance of a race the Fri. nite of the WDRA weekend? I'm not sure I could make it in time to race (5 hr. drive for me) but I sure would like to check it out!
Rippin 09-17-2007, 10:46 AM GROAN!!!!! Saturday was my Birthday and my kids took me to the New Yorker 200 at Utica Rome Speedway. I visited the track yesterday the 16th and took pics to show the Syracuse crowd. That place is awsome!!!!

JB8XL-LCR 09-23-2007, 09:10 PM Just wanted to publicly say thanks to Mike and his family from Masters Hobbies, Todd Moran, Todd Putnam and all the other folks who made my first night @ MH in Fultonville an enjoyable evening... Excellent facility, Looking forward to the fourth race of the CD R/C Racers quad track series on October 8th because we get to come back and do it all over again...

Todd Putnam 09-24-2007, 02:09 PM I'm not sure if this is politically correct to post here, but I want to nip this in the bud before it gets out of hand-
I recently heard a rumor that I own or have partial ownership in Master Hobbies and Raceway in Fultonville. This is a false statement, nothing could be further from the truth. I'm not sure how this rumor got started, nor do I care - I just want to set the record straight.
Mike, his friends, family and Todd Moran have assembled an incredible facility in a short time-especially considering none of them have past experience in building tracks or starting/running a hobby shop... They and they alone deserve all the credit for what they have accomplished.
I had to dispell the same rumors not too long ago regarding Competition Hobby in Latham, assuring people that my only involvement there was with the actual track and the CDRCRacers club. I guess some become confused when I actively promote a local track, and assume I have a vested interest-
I am flattered, however, that anyone would accidentally associate my name with either facility-as they have become some of the premier dirt oval facilities anywhere...
Now, back to our regularly scheduled program...
Rippin 09-25-2007, 11:57 AM Masters Hobbies ROCKS!!!! max bite for sure!!! Looking forward to Oct 8th.
