Got this at the flea market for 5.00. Thought that to be a pretty good price for a pretty well detailed SSK. Of course I can't leave well enough alone. Blued the pipes, strapped the bonnet, detailed the dash, black washed the wheels and grill, lightened the chassis and detailed the rear leaf springs. The only thing I don't like about it is there isn't any clearence between the seat and steering wheel.

Nice buy for $5.00. Congrats!

I have a SSK made by Solido somewhere in the house.

That is a nice car! Great job on the detailing you did. Gives it a little more realistic look.

Your detailing has certainly improved the model - who is it by? Brumm?

I had a MOY of the SSK when I was a kid. Oddly it didn't make it to this point like the rest of them from my childhood. I did recently obtain a MOY Jag SS100 in 1/43 scale.

Out of the shots previously presented here, I like the second frame the best. Looks pretty darn real.

Looking at the pics, as well as in hand, another thing that bugged me about the SSKL was the head lamps. No reflection from them. So I bug screened 'em.

Here's the Jag with the, again modified, SSKL http://img409.imageshack.us/img409/3278/ssklss100fq4.th.jpg (http://img409.imageshack.us/my.php?image=ssklss100fq4.jpg)

Just can't beat those MOY wire wheels. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Mercedes SSKL model was produced by "New Ray?"
