STUTZ 09-11-2007, 03:09 AM As the thread asks......"Would you like to see extra wheels and tires in Greenlight packaging?" A set of 4 would be nice! STUTZ 09-11-2007, 03:18 AM Yes, definitely! :hat: I'd be buying alot more Greenlight cars! Drdealone 09-11-2007, 05:07 AM Yes, but sold seperately from the cars. DrDeal pms485 09-11-2007, 08:07 AM I voted no. I like them the way they are. Joe Falco 09-11-2007, 08:12 AM It's nice on the JL Impala--they can be swapped out due to a two piece wheel. If my memory serves, GL cars would require a redesigned axle/wheel assembly to facilitate swapping the rims without cutting up the car. I doubt they'll ever do it with these style rims for reasons stated by Joe. But would I like it if they did it anyway? HECK-YEAH!!! STUTZ 09-11-2007, 04:09 PM Check this thread out guys. I didn't buy this car at first, but I did buy it after seeing the picture in this thread. I haven't done the wheel swap yet because I don't have a donor car for for the wheels and tires. The swap was done without drilling the rivets to disassemble the car. I like the wheel swap on this car! http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?t=194592 Inciteful 09-11-2007, 07:46 PM I voted no, if they did, I want them seperate from the cars in its own set. If it ain't broke, why fix it? GLH Turbo 09-11-2007, 09:39 PM I voted Yes but I think that they would need to include some sort of a prying tool that would help in the removal of the rims. I haven't tried myself (yet) but from what I've read, it can be pretty tough. edseldave 09-11-2007, 11:45 PM Yes ! Include other wheels !!. Ive swapped quite a few . Many of the customs have wheels I dont like ( dont like painted wheels ) & Ive swapped them for more stock vesions , along with many of the new Mustangs. Ive swapped the chrome Torque Thrusts onto the ones with the multi spoke wheels . I like the chrome torque thrusts better , along with white letter tires or white wall tires on the 60's cars instead of redlines or blackwalls . They arent too hard to swap , peel off the tires & use a small straight slot screwdriver to pry off the rim from the solid axle . Can be done on most cars without drilling them apart . Ive had a few that were difficult & have only broken a couple rims .. Ive also only had 1 car that had bad / crooked whitewall tire on it . The printing of the whitewall was very off kilter ... Lummox 09-11-2007, 11:53 PM I love the painted Torq Thrusts. We should trade! edseldave 09-12-2007, 10:07 PM I'll have to keep that in mind Lummox . At this time , Ive sold off the cars I swapped wheels with ... Except a couple GM cars ... ( No Torque Thrusts) Karl 09-12-2007, 11:05 PM I'm going to say 'no'. I like the one-piece wheel and the solid fit on a beefier axle. It's because of this combination I've never had a bent axle or 'tripod' ride like I get with 20% (no kidding) of my JL's. 3rdCoastDiecast 09-12-2007, 11:18 PM I said yes, but with the way they are set up, wouldn't it only be tires? The wheels are one piece on the axle. Maybe some slicks or drag radials. I think it would be even cooler if they were packaged separately to buy and put on any car instead just whichever package you got lucky enough to find, cause I bet these would sell like hotcakes! Greenlightrules 09-14-2007, 05:35 PM I vote "No". They may wind up on a JL or a HW. exece 09-14-2007, 07:23 PM I'm a no......You mean some people actually open a package   STUTZ 09-14-2007, 08:08 PM I'm a no......You mean some people actually open a package   I usually buy two. One to open, and one to keep in the packaging. The Barrett-Jackson series 2 is 10,000 production, so the are not as hard to find as the first Muscle Car Garage (2500 made) that came out last year. I started to open my new Greenlight cars, and enjoy them. I'm going to start enjoying them more by doing some wheel and tire swaps on the custom cars. 3rdCoastDiecast 09-15-2007, 08:45 PM I vote "No". They may wind up on a JL or a HW. That could happen now, I don't see why its that big a deal. Customizers swap JL wheels to HW's all the time, In fact, I just bought some HW's to throw some JL axles and wheels on so they will look real sheldon 09-16-2007, 02:56 AM Before They Start To Add Any Wheels, Gl Needs To Narrow Their Wheels So They Make The Car Look More Real In The First Place!!! Lummox 09-16-2007, 01:44 PM Now THAT is a VERY good point !!! The width of Greenlight tires borders on the cartoonish. Which is a real shame cause everything else about these cars is usually right on. JL does the same thing on some cars. Look at some of these cars from the front ~ ESPECIALLY in a photograph, it just ruins the look! Superbird77 09-16-2007, 03:18 PM I agree, if any other detail is correct on the model, why do they put so wide tires on it. It would be great if the wheel proportions were correct too! The width does need to decrease though IMO. Also maybe they could have screw off bases instead of rivets. Lummox 09-16-2007, 07:05 PM I vote "No". They may wind up on a JL or a HW. Truly a travesty!
