For some reason, the sound wasn't working on the trailer for me. But since you mentioned Ozzy, I'm sure they must be using the Black Sabbath hard rock song "Iron Man" in the movie. I liked that song alot when I was a kid but am surprised that they used that song, considering that it's 37 years old. I'm sure Ozzy got a kick out of them using the song as well as music royalties.

In one of his routines, comedian (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Comedian) Brian Haley (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brian_Haley) said that "if "Iron Man" is played backwards (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Backmasking), the song "Moon River (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_River)" is what is heard".
I wonder if you play the Iron Man movie backwards if you end up seeing the "Breakfat At Tiffany's" movie? I think I better go to bed before I get so silly that no one on the board will ever forgive me for such low quality humor...

Well. Favreau had two choices. Use it or don't. The snippet certainly works for the purposes of the trailer. Whether it's used in the actual movie we'll have to see. Black Sabbath or no, I've got a real good feeling about this movie.

I think it worked fine in the trailer, especially considering the fuzzy guitars started in when IM Mk. I started kicking some serious ass.

I think it'll go over well with the die-hards. I haven't read an Iron Man comic since the 60s but they are obviously following the comic book origin as closely as possible and the Mk I and Mk 2 armors are "classic" in all the right ways.
The casting of Stark was an inspired choice and Favreau is clever enough to "let Downey Jr. be Downey Jr.". I don't think this movie will be a disappointment at all.

the song is a 500lb. gorilla. It's inevitible (sp) that the song was gonna get used somewhere in relation to this project. Sorta like the TV theme to spiderman in relation to the films. and to a greater extent Sci-Fi using the movie Flash Gordon theme to promote their crappy series but not using it in the show itself.

the issue is if it adds or subtracts from the film as a whole. or even if it shows up in the final film.

I suspect that its use in the trailer is meant to show the tone of the film and probably wont show up in the final film.

it was just a horrible Godzilla movieI remember them using the B.O.C. song in the trailers as well, but I don't remember them using it in the film; maybe over the credits? I'm also one of the few that liked the film and the re-designed Godzilla--finally the "Big G" didn't look like a guy in a rubber suit.

I think it was inevitable that the studio would use Black Sabbath's Iron Man in some way to at least promote the film. If they use it in the film, I hope it'll be minimal at best.

There was no life in SKY CAPTAIN to suck out. Lotsa' pretty pictures though.

That is true. Giant robots were too cool...worthy of a much better flick.
