Hi, I'm new to this site. I'm from Denmark and I´m addicted to old toy-cars
I only collects vintage stuff, primarely Matchbox and I'm hopelessly hooked on cardboard.
I don't like repaints and I hate repro-boxes.
Hopefully there are a few kindred spirits on this site.

See pic. of a few of my favorite models.

Welcome Karl!
I particularly like the refreshment stand in your picture. Reminds me of the silver one I used to have when I was a kid.

nice group. always good to see a #46 morris.
are there repro boxes being made today to deceive the collector or are clearly different from the originals?

Repro boxes may fool some, but so far they come on either white or gray card, not the cream that Lesney used, so they are easy to spot. Also the printing technique - traditional plates with color overlay are much crisper than modern laser printers, hold a genuine next to a fake and the printing quality becomes obvious.

The ageing of the cardboard may be one of the hardest things to fake - the slight discoloration on the inside, and the genuine old ones has a rather distingt smell.
The only problem is, if you don't have the opportunity to inspect it in person and just have a blurry pic.
I would never buy an expencive box without inspecting it myself, or at least know the seller well.

Of all the castngs Lesney made the Morris Minor is certently one of the nicest! My "Holy Grail" is this model i tan! You can keep all your reversed coloured wreckers and seagreen Diplomats (both looks rather hidious in those colours) Just leave a mint tan Morris for me
