In just a couple weeks they are planning a kick-off to this fall racing season date/s to come. Also phone #s for track info to come soon. Lets all help keep this track open for the RC community here in western Pa.

Kris, thanks for the plug!

The track in Bradenville, PA is OPEN!

The previous owners decided to close their business, but I just couldn't let the doors close on what has been my second home for many years. So while RC Avenue Raceway might be closed now, RC Alley Raceway is OPEN! The track is open every Wednesday night for practice from 5PM to 8:30PM(cost is $2/hour or $5 for the whole night) and racing will be every Friday night. The doors open on Fridays at 5:30PM and I try to start racing by 7:30PM. We run till we're done. Registration is the same as before, $10 for the first vehicle entry and $5 for each vehicle entry after that. I will run any class that has 3 or more entries for it(2 or more if it's a slow night! LOL!). For any that don't know about this track, it's indoor carpet flat oval, 40x80', convertable to road course in minutes and automatic lap counting. There is plenty of pit space with electrical outlets and a snack bar with pop and candy(soon to be more).

While there is a strong truck following at the track, there is also plenty of oval support, too. Lately there has even been a few electric helicopters showing up on practice nights. The track is a perfect place to practice with your chopper; there's plenty of room and no wind at all! If anyone has any questions, please don't hesitate to email me. Email in my profile! Thanks!

Sounds good. Keep us posted as to what classes will be run. Fridays are better for me through the fall so I am hoping to be able to make it out there if there will be a class for 4 cell pan cars. Thanks.

This past friday we were only one car away from having a 4 cell class! There should be more coming, too. By all means please come out and race!

Tonight was a great night at RC Alley. We had 5 full classes, including 4 cell open, Novice, 2wd truck, Monster Truck and Emaxx. I was really happy with the turn out and it's great to see the momentum pick up!

OK here's the BIG questions ..........................Whats the address for this track ?? I have fridays off from work and would like to try and make the trip one friday. Also are there any hotels in the area that are inexpencive ? Would I need to bring table and chair or are there permanent pits there ? When this trip happens I'll be coming from Baltimore MD and plan on running 4 cell stock or 4 cell 13.5 pan car.

Almost forgot how big is this track ??? And what are the hours of operation on fridays ??

So far there have been no brushless or mod nastruck class, but as always I will run any class that has 3 or more vehicles entered.

As for the address, I don't know the street number, but it's located on Alexandria street in Bradenville, PA. Alexandria st. is less than a mile long, so getting to the street means you're less than 1/2 mile away.

Here's a partial list of some of the nearby hotels:
Overnight accommodations:
--Super 8
Located near Greensburg, PA. on RT 30
Phone # (724) 838-8080

--Super 8
Rt. 22 Delmont
Phone # (724) 468-4888

--Holiday Inn Express
RT. 30 Greensburg
Phone # (724) 838-7070

--Holiday Inn
RT. 22 Delmont
Phone # (724) 468-1050

--Comfort Inn
Rt. 22 Blairsville
Phone # (724) 459-7100
or 1-800-770-0000

There are permanent tables and several stools and seats scattered around the pit room. If you want to be 100% positive you'll have a seat, you might want to bring one just to be sure. The track is 40'x80' flat, carpeted oval, corugated flex pipe track walls and it's convertable to a roadcourse with 6' lanes within minutes. Friday nights we open the doors by 5:30PM, try to be racing by 7:30 and we run till we're done. 2 qualifiers and a main.

Sounds good!

NExt friday night there is going to be a new class that has been requested by a few racers:

Mod Rubber Truggy. Basically any 2wd offroad type vehicle(buggy or truck, doesn't really matter), rubber tires(no foam tires or really stiff spikes), modified or brushless motors and 6 cells(no lipos). This class will run on the modified oval with jumps. Should be a really fun class and gives people a reason to dust off any old offroad vehicle they may have and throw it in there.

It was great to see r/c racing is still alive and well in the Latrobe, PA area. Hopefully it will not be too long before I make my return to racing.

The guys who were running 4-cell 13.5, which brushless ESC were you guys using?

Novak 4 cell GTB is a very nice esc for 4 cell Brushless oval racing.

When I was there on 4/4/08 there were only 3 running 13.5, but was told it was a rare dry week, that they've been getting more than that. I'll have 2 cars to race there hopefully in about a month or so.

We are planning to keep racing as long as racers come! We usually have anywhere between 3 and 6 4cell guys on any given friday night. Due to the number of people, right now we run 13.5 b/l together with guys running 19 turn brushed and they are just about dead even over the 5 minute heat. If anything the 19 turns seem slightly faster, but I haven't seen a 19 turn win yet. Last night I got to see the difference between the 13.5 and 27 turn brushed and they are not comparable, especially over a 5 minute heat as the 27 turn was finishing down quite a few laps...

Tomorrow(Sunday) is a work party day for the outdoor dirt track. I plan to be there by noon to open the gates so a group of us can start getting the dirt track ready to run. If anyone is available and want to help out, please come on out! The more the merrier! If it rains, we might postpone till next sunday.

Losi Mini Dirt Late Model

We've been having decent racer turnouts during the summer months, hoping it will pick up this fall!

Yes, they're open. They race every Friday evening - start time is around 7:30 pm.

Tons of classes - from pancars (17.5 4 cell NASCAR) to EREVO's to mini late models to 2wd and 4wd buggies - they've got you covered.

Also, you won't find a nicer group of people.

You should make the trip. You won't be disappointed.

Hi, Jeff.

I'm doing well, thanks. I've been racing about once or twice per month this year - semi-retired. I've been to RC Avenue 3 times. Great folks and the carpet is - uh, challenging. Set-up is super critical. I've had fun, and that's the name of the game.

Your message sounds like you haven't been racing this year. Is that true? Pack your stuff up and head to RC Avenue. Maybe I'll see you there some Friday night.

Take care.

I visited this track a few weeks ago. There are NO oval classes. They're not even setting the oval track up. Road course only.

Another track bites the dust in western PA. I better find a new hobby.

I really shouldn't speak for the track as I only stayed about 10 minutes for my visit but I saw no VTA or touring cars. Mostly buggies, Slashes and monster trucks. The track was set up with jumps.

Kevin, sorry I didn't find this until now, but that's not entirely accurate. We haven't set up the oval because we haven't had anyone enter any oval vehicles. We can always flip the track from road course to oval in minutes and I will run ANY class that has 3 or more entries in it. Right now the biggest classes are 2wd Truck and Short Course Truck, both of which run road course with jumps.

I'm not sure where the miscommunication came from. The track is still there, still open and like I said, we will run ANY class with 3 or more entries, no matter if we have to switch the track or not.
