STUTZ 09-02-2007, 04:23 PM Thanks for the roll call replies guys.
Just a Bump, looking for more visiters.
I'd like to see some pics of POLITOYS models. They are what got me interested in 1/43 scale in 1969. I have very few of them left in my collection, and they are packed away in boxes somewhere. I think ranchero has a nice collection of POLITOYS.
The Brooklin "Bullitt" Mustang is another model I'd love to see posted with several pics. I am so sorry I passed on this model.
Take Care everyone, have a safe and fun Labor Day!............STUTZ
I always check this forum out when I visit HT. I have a few 1:43 cars from my childhood collection, as well as a few recent purchases for my small "liquor and diecast" collection.
ranchero 09-02-2007, 07:00 PM I've got a bunch of Politoys. Many came from a hobby shop in Pittsburgh called "Burlands". In the late '70s and early '80s I was in town often and always visited that hobby shop. Also got a lot of Mebetoys there.
Below is #573 - a Jensen Interceptor. I will post some other photos of good looking Politoys.

Thanks for posting the pics of your vintage Politoys ranchero. I really enjoyed looking at them.
I've lived in Pittsburgh for MANY years, but I can't remember "Burlands". Where was "Burlands"?
Ranchero, I suggest you start several threads posting pics of your Politoys. It will be easier for any "Newbies" that join HT after today to view them. It will be easier for me to view them from time to time also. :p
Macs_Little_Car 09-02-2007, 10:47 PM I am here, not every day, but a few times a week
ranchero 09-02-2007, 11:19 PM Stutz - Burlands was in a strip mall '60s kind of shopping center north of downtown. Was there a "North Hills" or "Green Hills" shopping center or something like that? All I remember was that I stayed in downtown Pittsburgh - usually at a Hyatt across the street from the arena. And I would drive the rental car north to go to Burlands.
STUTZ 09-03-2007, 12:02 AM Thanks ranchero. My monthly diecast cast meet is north of Pittsburgh on Tuesday. It's about 25 miles from where I live, and I'm sure someone will be able to tell me about Burlands. A couple members are from Ohio, and some members live farther south of Pittsburgh than I do. There are some "old time" members, so I think they'll be able to tell me about Burlands.
Lummox 09-03-2007, 01:30 AM Wow!!! I LOVE the Iso Griffo and the Rivolta!!!
Superbird77 09-03-2007, 03:12 AM Iso, Jensen.... what a beautiful cars!
And congrats to 1 great year. I wish I had some more 1/43 models, but I really enjoy visiting this forum, as there is so much variety in 1/43 scale and some models are just incredibly detailed. Keep those pictures coming... :)
STUTZ 09-03-2007, 05:32 PM Lummox, do you have any 1/43 scale diecast cars?
Superbird77, I'll bet you have some cars that you haven't posted yet.
Anyone else?
Lpgeoteacher 09-03-2007, 07:48 PM I'm here just computer problems keep me away sometimes!

I can't take credit for that Al. Jinx does an excellent job posting pics of diecast cars most of us have never seen before. Truthfully, I like the variety of 1/43 cars that have been posted so far.
I wish that I could see more pics of vintage 1/43 scale diecast cars. They may not be the high quality of today's diecast cars, but they were nice in their days and bring back many happy memories of my younger days.
As for the beer, I'll buy you one if you go to CenterShock's (Nick) gathering in April. :hat:

 I just posted 4 that I though were kind of cool. What else do you want to see. I'll try to take some more pictures.

Do you have any Politoys from the '60's? They were my first 1/43 scale diecast cars that I bought in 1969. I still like them very much.
Thanks in advance.

Hmmm... I might have 3 or 4. My 1/43 collection is about 500+ cars in three categories. I collect TV/Movie vehicles like the ones I posted. I collect rally cars from the Monte Carlo, Safari, and Paris-Dakar rallies, and I collect some Japanese market cars, primarily Nissan Skylines of various era's. I also have a few odds and ends of cars I was given or cars I just happened to like.
My collection is mostly IXO/SKID/Vitesse, Corgi, Tomica Dandy, Diapet, Norev, Dinky, plus some built 1/43 scale metal and resin kits. I'm pretty sure several of my rally cars are Politoys.

Please start a new thread so it will be easy to find your cars. I've noticed that a few older threads were revived my new members. Some new members search a thread title an revive an old thread. A thread titled "Politoy cars" might be a good title.
