i have decided to sell this and i have done some homework. i have a transformers cybertron optimus prime action figure. i have been searching to find info on it because it has a distinguishing charachteristic about it. after looking through various price guides, contacting collectible action figure shops, looking at pics all over the net looking at pics on ebay i have even called hasbro and spoke with them (they told me i had an extremely rare one as they had nothing on record for this specific trait). the trait is that between the eyes and mouth the "nose bar" as i call it is painted in a silver metallic color. i have never removed this from the box and i will try and post pics later to show what i am talking about. i am going to be asking (according to numerous suggestions from numerous collectible toy shops) $800.00 this price is firm and shipped to the lower 48 states. i will consider prtial trades for a good working xbox (original with big controller), r/c items, evga 8800gts 640mb video card, intel quad core cpu. i will also consider trades for an xbox 360 (black one with large hard drive), core 2 duo base laptop, of course cash. i will post pics (hopefully in the morning). please keep in mind that even hasbro (the manufacturer of the toy) even stated that it seems to be an extremely rare one. thanks for looking, let me know by e-mail lordraptor1@yahoo.com for fastest response. sorry for pic quality but my webcam doesn't take the best pictures. my version is still in the box and i have a pic of it that way but it is real bad. i WILL consider trades and my asking price is based off of my information from collectible action figure shops and the information given to me about it's rarity from hasbro.

i hope so to. apparently it is worth way more than my asking price so i may end up posting it on ebay if someone doesn't jump soon.

anyone???? i was just quoted (in its current condition) value 2,500.00 maybe more. apparently it is a one of a kind, factory f#####p, it has 3 different part numbers on the box and has the painted "nose bridge" i was told that it may have been done by an emplyee at the factory as a joke (better for me seeing as how it is not like there would be more out there like this), i am however (as it is posted here) still doing research on it adn my price will now be adjusted accordingly (i will deduct from the actual "value of it for the box damage the it is worth the more i will knock off for the "shelf damage")

If you're so confident on it's value. put it on Ebay. See what it gets.

ever since fleabay cleared my x.com account (when they bought them out and changed it to paypal) of 480.00 and refused to return my money i have not used ebay. i know what i paid for it so anything over that is gravy LOL.

Well, unless you focus more on the appropriate demographic, I see it hard-pressed to go for the asking price that you've posted. VERY hard-pressed. But hey,...good luck with it

thanks, i am currently looking into getting some paperwork from a coouple of sources stating what they told me the value was based on certain discrepencies they found with p/n's on the box and the paint on the face, i am also trying to get in touch with the guy i spoke with at hasbro so i can see if he will give me a letter or something stating what he told me about it seeming to be an extremely rare one because the paint scheme on the face not matching any records he found. from everything i have found on the net shows it to either be extremely rare or even possibly someone at the factory did it (i was told of instances where factory members have been known to do somethign on a figure now and then as a joke, first time i have heard of this but this came from 2 different sources) if it is that would mean it is a one of a kind although yes it is very hard to prove but i am looking for the proof i need to prove it is rare. god forbid it be one that a factory worker tampered with because it would practically be one of a kind and priceless. LOL heres to wishful thinking and yes good luck to me. on a side note i now would like to hear from serious inquiries on this action figure.

ok first 300.00 shipped takes it (lower 48), i have an e-mail from hasbros which states it is an anomoly. they said they could not give validation as to its rarity but did say it was an anomoly (which in essence) validates it's rarity. i am asking 300.00 because it is rare and it has shelf damage (if the box was mint i would be asking 600.00).

will you accept a brand new in the box webcam to help you with pics. and a nintendo 64 gold edition?

sorry porksalot not interested in nintendo stuff ( it is dime a dozen here) sorry, do not need a webcam as i have one and i also have a cheap digi cam i can get better pics with. 300.00 shipped may consider a 105 gallon (or larger) reef ready tank stand and canopy combo if you are willing to deliver, otherwise more interest in cash

here are pics. these are teh best i can do at this time (batts are low in the camera). the anomoly on this is the silver paint under his eyes. i will even include for the buyer a printout of the e-mail from hasbro as well as forward the e-mail to the buyer.

don't use ebay anymore (i might when ebay replaces the 500.00 they stole from my x.com account when they rolled it in to paypal), and also no need to worry about the movie when i have the e-mail from hasbro stating it is an anomoly . anyway, i am in need of money right now so the first person who comes up with 200.00 (paid through wal-mart money transfer) gets it shipped to their door priority mail delivery confirmation to any ov teh lower 48 states.

I have one with the same part painted pink.

I'll start the bidding at 1 billion dollars.

One offs/factory jokes usually don't increase the value of anything, it actually makes the item less desireable.

If you still have it, what's your rock bottom price on it?

first of all rock bottom price not sure, second of all if this one is going for 30-40 on ebay buy it (these are the same one i can go get at wal-mart for that price now, there is no discrepency on these), while in carrollton yesterday i stopped at a collectible action figure store and was quoted a value ( with it's shelf damage which i myself find very bad) 600.00. if you are interested in it and are willing to make a cash offer or make a trade offer pm me. i know what i have been told the value was by 2 different collectible action figure sources and i also have a printout of the e-mail i received from harbro stating it to be a factory anomoly. and factory anomolies ARE more valuable due to them being more rare

Um,..why didn't you sell it to them instead of trying to justify it to those on here that feel it's worth no more than it's retail cost????

lordraptor1
10-28-2007, 03:38 PM
woodman that is simple, i never expected it to sell here on the boards it was just a matter of posting it for the sake of seeing if it would. just like the r/c stuff i had posted that only brought me lowball offers or crappy trades, well i sold it off at the r/c swap meet yesterday for my asking price. if someone has a serious offer i would like to see it, if i used ebay as a price guide i would be offering people 75.00 to 100.00 for NIB brushless motor systems, and 50.00 to 100.00 for ksg and hyperdrive oval cars. ebay is really just a waste of internet space IMO. if you like to base your prices off of ebay the go to local retailers and tell them you will offer them what you can get them for on ebay and see where it gets you. if you are interested and have a serious offer fine, if not please do not waste my time. like i said i did not think it would sell here anyway.
