Thanks to some quick by a group of very dedicated racer the BRL season will kick off as scheduled in Cincinnati, OH on the weekend of October 13-14.

Tri-State Hobbies & Raceway will open its doors to host some of the nations best oval drivers for the BSR Racing Tires 300.

The new track is headed up by veteran racers John Foister, Roger Hasler, and Joe Retherford. They plan to begin construction immediately and hope to be open in early September just in time for the winter season.

The building is only a few years old and has great lighting. In fact some may remember it as the former home of Ultra Hobbies & Raceway a few years ago.

Plans call for a Snowbird sized oval using R/C Scoring Pro Software. Pit area will easily accommodate 100+ racers and a full Pro shop will be on site. (Chances are they will have some BSR tires if you need them.)

John, Roger, and Joe are really excited about there new facility and look forward to seeing everyone soon.

Thanks for the kind words Sonny and even more thanks for keeping the race in Cincy.

We hope to have the track ready Sept. 8 for our first race, so there will be plenty of time to work the bugs out before the BRL comes to town. The current plan is a 42 x 86 track with a 16 x 66 infield (about 175' runline). Enough pits for at least 100 racers. We'll keep posting details as we get more prepared.

Just a bit of an update:

The carpet is down and they are in the process of building the outter wall. The new lights will be in tomorrow. They did get the new CRC track system which is really trick (you can check it out on their web site). There is still a lot of electric to re-run (it needs moved so that they can accomodate more racers). There are also a ton of other little touches that need to be made so that things will be awesome. John wants to run on Saturday but it looks like everything will be finished for the 15th to race.

So if you want to pratice for the BRL (and since Sonny does not allow it during BRL weekends) I hope to see everyone there the next couple of weeks!

I think those are the rules from last year. I think sonny covered everything that was changed for this year in the first post on the 2007/2008 thread.

Updated rules should be available before the 15th. No major changes planned, just some specs for the new classes (17.5 & Masters) and clarifications on a few things.

Just so everyone knows we plan to run oval this weekend the 16th. Not everything will be finished but there will be enough done to have a great time and see the new track. John has also stated that he will have 17.5 motors in stock. So if your ready to smell the paragon come on out and play at Tri-State Internationl Raceway!

Any hotel info?

The Capri Motel is across the street, they have rooms you can rent for the hour or if your Sonny by the minute. Or if you know the meger acomodations Zubie likes to frequent that would describe it as well.

-Monti-

PS Maybe Sonny would rent by the second? Oh well 45 sec or a minute whats the difference.

Not a good idea. I don't think it's even on Zubie's approved list.

I've stayed at the Baymount in the past. About 4-5 miles from the track but just across from Hooters...You know It's all about location..

Baymount INN
12150 Springfield Pike
Cincinnati, OH 45246
(513) 671-2300
(800) 531-5900

John should be posting some other hotel info soon.

However dont be afraid... As sonny said if you go a little further down rt 4 back into fairfield there are plenty of nice ones... Hopefully John gets a list up soon... If not I will try to put one together..

We have parking in front and rear of building. It is best to park in rear to bring in race equiptment through back doors to pit area.

Motel for race. I stopped and checked out the Econo Lodge today and the rooms are clean. Motel is old but clean.

I negotiated a racer price of $42.00 plus tax which comes to $47.25. This is for a double bed room or king bed room.
Call 513-829-7000 (Varsha) and mention Tri-state Hobbies Brl Race to get the discounted rate.

For a nicer Hotel with breakfast call Baymount Inns at
513-771-6888 and mention Tri-State Hobbies for $55.00 plus tax for up to four people.
10900 Crowne Pointe Drive

Heading south I-75 use exit 24 (sr129) east, go to end of regional hwy (7-8miles) and turn left onto Rt4 (dixie hwy) to 3379 about 2miles.

Heading north I-75 use exit 16 (I-275west) then exit 41(Rt 4)and head north to 3379 (4-5 miles)

Rt 4 and Dixie hwy are the same road.
