View Full Version : How Rare? MattGTO 08-27-2007, 10:20 PM How rare are these GM's? I had no idea these were more valuable than TH's! 3rdCoastDiecast 08-27-2007, 11:46 PM There are a few variables as far as what drives price. The first release or two were smaller, meaning a smaller run of Green Machines, usually 70 of each car, due to a true 2% run of chase cars. That is waaaay smaller than any White lighting or Hunt run. They (Green Light) have now stepped up some to keep up with demand, but they still don't come close to tthe number of chase cars compared to HotWheels or Johnny Lightning. The Green Light chase cars IMO will always be worth more than just about any wl and definitely and hunts, which come by the 1000's. Green Machines are true chase cars STUTZ 08-28-2007, 03:24 AM The first series of Muscle Car Garage from 2006 had a production of 2500 cars and 50 GREEN MACHINES. Then production was increased to 3500 for Muscle Car Garage Stock and Custom with 70 GREEN MACHINES. Other series have 120 GREEN MACHINES, and the Barrettt-Jackson series 2 has a production of 10,000 with 200 GREEN MACHINES. Even at 200 GREEN MACHINES, they are harder to find than a Hot Wheels Treasure Hunt. The lowest production year for a Treasure Hunt was the first year (1995), at 10,000. McRooster 08-28-2007, 12:57 PM Treasure hunts are garbage. If it's not a WL or GM then it's a COMMON dime a dozen TH. McRooster 08-28-2007, 01:00 PM Another thing I find amazing is how does someone that joined these boards last month, already have 784 posts?. rgeezer18 08-28-2007, 01:32 PM Another thing I find amazing is how does someone that joined these boards last month, already have 784 posts?. I reckon you could say he likes to trade and enjoy,s the board,s. Whatcha think?? Russ rssada@aol.com  McRooster 08-28-2007, 01:46 PM I think there's NOT enough hours in MY day. Green Machines are true chase cars WL's are supposed to be 1% of a run, and if they are they're just about as rare as a GM. TH's on the other hand are a dime a dozen. 3rdCoastDiecast 08-28-2007, 02:49 PM WL's are supposed to be 1% of a run, and if they are they're just about as rare as a GM. TH's on the other hand are a dime a dozen. While they say WL's are a 1 - 2% run, look at the fact that Johnny Lightning also produces about 4 or 5 times more cars than Green Light. That means there are more WL's out there. What about the flood of Whites from Canada not that long ago and the prices they bring in now versus what they used to McRooster 08-28-2007, 03:05 PM Most Playingmantis JL' runs were between 10-20k, so that means the WL version was still quite rare. Now most of the RC2 AND the LC JL runs are between 5-10k and those numbers are very comparable to GL. Not that much difference in a GM or a WL as far as numbers produced. ABee1000 08-28-2007, 06:00 PM I tend to like these Green Machines more then the others myself. They are far more rare and the quality is really nice. I found myself paying too much for some of my Greenies but that was just because I had to have it... and apparently someone else did too. I think I pay more for these then they are really worth or ever will be worth... but they just sing to me on a higher note then the other brands. And the production numbers are really low... STUTZ pretty much gave you the numbers. I really like knowing that I am only one of 50, 70, 120, or 200 people that share that very car. I guess it's all about what you like. I have learned from the people I have talked to, that it is about what gets your fancy. Some people just like the WL... I like the GM. Everyone has their reasons. No car is crap... I find myself buying a regular Hot Wheels just because it is an eye catcher. I hope I didn't run off the subject. Oh wait... I did. Don't mind me. Sprinter 08-28-2007, 08:07 PM Make 120 Green Machines with green rims for Targets etc.And the same car with another Green Variation for another avenue of collecting.Same number of cars produced but with a difference in the Greenies.120 green rims-120 solid green bodies.Sprinter vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
