Bruce Bishop 08-28-2007, 04:04 PM And don't forget the very very fuzzy Godzilla in the top right of the lower Fright Night picture.
ChrisW 08-29-2007, 09:30 AM Fernio - Very Cool! We've talked about these a number of times here on the board, but it's a whole 'nuther degree of coolness to actually see them - Thanks so much for posting!
fernieo 08-29-2007, 06:19 PM Here are a couple more:
From Home Alone, it looks like a Dracula up on the upper right top shelf :
http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/foj3000/NDVD_205copy.jpg
And from Galaxy Quest, not any Aurora models but Brandon is Building An AMT style Protector (Why AMT ERTL RC2 whatever, never produced one of these is beyond me) Also a G. I. Joe, Macfarlane figure and other toys back there:
http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/foj3000/NDVD_133copy.jpg
Anyone know of any others?

fernieo 08-29-2007, 08:32 PM Speaking of the Simpsons. From Homer's Phobia, Here's a Godzilla (looks a bit like the Godzilla prototype from the 70's):
http://i238.photobucket.com/albums/ff111/foj3000/NDVD_001copy.jpg
In the second pic, looks like a Digger Wierd-O:

Roland 08-29-2007, 11:34 PM That is a very cool assortment of frames. Thanks for sharing.
Somthing is not right with the photo from Monster Squad. The kid has two Aurora Glow Kits from the early 70's and an early 1990's Tsukuda Kit? An unbuilt stash, or, his mom didn't throw out the empty boxes? I know it's only a movie... It's still cool that model kits made it into the movie. I hope to see this movie some day.
I never noticed the Aurora Dracula before on the big broher's shelf in Home Alone.
fernieo 08-29-2007, 11:37 PM I think the Tskuda kits came out around '85 or 86 about the time the movie was filmed.
Roland 08-29-2007, 11:42 PM That puts the dates of the kits only 10 years apart, assuming the aurora kits went out of production in 1975 or so.
Roland 08-29-2007, 11:47 PM The Galaxy Quest Photo also has a Frankenstein bust and what appears to be a mumy bust. Probably both resin kits.
fernieo 08-29-2007, 11:54 PM In the mid 80's you could still find glow kits fairly easily, around that time I found a glow Dr. J and Drac still sitting at a hobby store across town. (for $2.00 ea!) In the Galaxy Quest pic you can also see a Terminator skull(behind the fan)
Auroranut 10-27-2008, 12:26 AM Excellent stuff!! Thanks heaps for posting ferneio!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Simon
DarthForge 08-17-2009, 11:49 PM Weren't there some in the opening credits of "Creepshow" in the kids
room?
sprayray 08-18-2009, 12:31 AM Another 1987 movie that had some cool kits was "The Monster Squad" , in the kids treehouse they had alot of boxed aurora kits , tskuda vinyl monsters as well and another movie not monster related in any way was with Kevin Bacon and Elizabeth Mcgovern in He Said/She Said 1991 they both are tv newscasters who fall in love , and at his desk he has some monster kits .
IndyRC_Racer 08-18-2009, 12:40 PM Some movies that come to mind that could have models in them would be The Princess Bride, Big, and The Last Starfighter. All of these movies have scenes in boy's bedrooms and there probably is something in their room.
frankenstyrene 08-18-2009, 07:21 PM That Wolfman's base seems odd, apart from being all red. From here looks like it could be a whole other base?
PerfesserCoffee 08-20-2009, 12:58 PM "The Incredibles" shows some Aurora-like model boxes, IIRC in Mr. Incredible's home study.
Ohio_Southpaw 08-20-2009, 07:25 PM On a recent episode of Two and a Half Men (rerun), Alan was building the Polar Lights Mystery Machine.
Dinosaur Steve 12-06-2009, 11:25 PM Speaking of how amazed some of us were that AMT or any other model company did not release a plastic model version of the Protector from Galaxy Quest, I just saw this the other day:

If anyone has already posted this on this forum I apologize.
Rick Pascucci 03-24-2010, 05:29 PM In one episode from the Dick Van-Dyke Show from the 60's, there's a scene in Ritchie's bedroom where you can clearly see his shelves full of Aurora model kits. I recall Superman, and the monsters. Don't know the episode though. Anybody?????
