All tables were filled up long ago.

Anaheim Convention Center, CA! AutofestWest 2008!!

Start planning now!

Huge untapped market out here for vendors. Come back to the birthplace of slot cars in the US - So Cal!

I'm sorry, I thought you were talking about moving AutoFest to CA. I didn't realize you were doing your own show. Good luck to you sir.

For AutoFest in Indiana, the origianl format was booked within hours. I went back for more space and booked out again. I extended the use of the outdoor courtyard banquet tent for the entire show time rather than Saturday night only so there are some added options available.

Weather pending you may set up your own overflow tables in the gated private courtyard connected to the event area where the tent is. Inside the tent is an additional ten large tables that can be used to buy sell and trade but must be tore down each evening and for Dinner set up Saturday afternoon. The last option is to post your room number and times you will be open for room to room trading/selling at the info table.

No, I'm sorry for my inability to communicate clearly. I was making a suggestion for you to bring Autofest to CA. I hope your show grows to the point where having a show in CA is something you would consider.

I think California would be a terrific place to have a diecast show. I've suggested that to a few people. ;)

I got to think diecast is as big out here in CA as it is across the country. Even though I am not into die-cast, I know our malls have die-cast specific retailers. Slots for some reason died out, but I could see it making a comeback. If I was aware of a die-cast show that had a hint of having something slot related, I know I would be there.

I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for anyone in California to do one; It's easier to just trash someone else's show than put one on yourself.

Hi Scafremon,

Living in So California, many shows I have attend in California are very well done shows and a few that have slots (one in Stanton California- - Hobby City!!).

I prefer shows with actual real manufactuer sponsers as opposed to shows with vague but over hyped, conjected, distorted and contrived claims. I avoid those kind.

The grand-daddy of them all here in California of course is the Hot Wheels Convention. As real as you can get and nary a fake rep or designer to be seen. Unless Larry Wood is an imposter.

My favorite though would be the (Auto)Fest in Indiana (I have been to the Fest the last 5 years it is that good!). And this year looks to be a die-cast and slot star studded who's who of many different brands. Actual in the flesh reps - not just a business card - but real folks from these companies to talk with.

And as far as JL is concerned, I have learned now Fest will have high end LC/RC2 reps attending as well. And among other slot car folks will be Tom Lowe in attendence who brought back JL cars along with slots and will be there with his new AW SLOT products as he has been present at many a Fest events. Tom Lowe must know a real venue when he sees one.

Hope to see you there!

-Peter

Locking this thread and putting everyone on notice that this Cheap Shot stuff you are doing is beyond childish. Do you who must constantly trash other people honestly want Hank to close down the Slot Cars section of Hobby Talk?

My apologies to those who've been considerably more adult in how you handle yourselves here. Please don't give in to the bait of the vocal minority. Just continue to hit that Report Post button and let one of us know what's going on so we can do something about it. It won't take long for Hank or I to weed out the trouble makers if you continue to do that.
