true. but I'm planning on going to the birds, and maybe the oval masters, so I don't wanna invest a lot of money in something I'm not going to be running at two huge races this year. But, given the recent history of recent batteries, I think that the lipo's are the wave of the future.

Ok would like to know what everyone will run for brushless and what to get....Thinking about racing again, but only brushless. What will be the good brushless system to get if I get back into it??? PLus do I need to upgrade my Turbo's or get different charger?? Remeber I am old and slow...now I know how Gary Richmond felt.....lol

Anyone Interested In A 17.5 Brushless Class With Nimh Batteries...it Would Be Stock Speeds Without Having To Work On The Motor Giving You More Chassis Tuning Time And Track Time.

You dont need much tuning on a motor in stock, or even 19turn for that matter. A fast motor will not make a ineffcient car fast. Even in mod, motor will only go so far.

So what is everone going to run, Trying to get ready to get some stuff,

I think we should have a night once a month where we all run the same class. Like we did a few years ago with stock. Maybe not mod cause not everyone has the sticks but, stock 19T. Something like that? Im not looking forward to this 19 different class season......

Lipo's Are The Ticket,it's Just Finding A Brushless Motor To Run About Stock Lap Times

it will be a little faster than stock speeds. this class in my opinion is about awesome
1- budget friendly
2- everybody is basicly on the same equipment- motor-body-cell, so its really gonna come down to setup and driving

after running the lipo's i would seriously rather not run oval than to ever have to buy IB's agian! I have been running offroad and 1 pack stays in the car all night with just a few peaks on it ,for the past month that includes running once a week of practice and my times have not fell off at all, i dunno you will have to find out for yourself
if there not abused and overcharged they are a safe cell

If you want good class counts maybe try a structure like this:

Sportsman Lipo/BL:
Any pancar chassis
Standard LIPO pack (Arcor rules)
COT body only with COT wing
Novak 17.5 motor
Any spec tire

After you reach a certain lap level determined (say 58 laps or something like that) then its an automatic move to a:

Pro Lipo BL class:
Any pancar chassis
Standard Lipo pack
Any body, any wing
Novak 17.5 motor
Any tire

Then once a year throw everybody into the same class and have a Lipo/BL shootout.
