Friend gave me a Honda Harmony 215. Runs fine but transmission will not engage. Lever has a lot of play. Looked on the net at owners manual and it showed the lever should not have much play and also a very simple drawing showing how to adjust the cable. Ha! Have not spent a lot of time but it appears the whole deck has to be removed to get to anything. Is there an easy way or a web site that has instructions on how to remove? Thanks

Post the model number and serial number off of your mower and I am sure someone can help you out. What is it you want to remove? The cable or the transmission?

Model Number is Harmony 215, MZBA Serial #6025646SXA. Would first like to adjust the clutch cable to see if the tansmission will work. If not remove enough of the transmission so it will become a push mower rather than self propelled.

Underneath the dash panel you will see where the cable is anchored. There are 2 nuts on the end of the clutch cable that can be moved to take the slack from the cable.

If you want to turn this unit into a push mower, you can simply remove each of the rear drive wheels and this will allow access to the drive gears on the transmission axle. Remove the keeper ring and pull the gear off of the axle shaft. This will allow you to push and pull the mower without the wheels engaging the transmission. Just reinstall the rear wheels and your good to go. If you want to eliminate the weight of the transmission then the proceedure will be much more involved.
