Hi, I am new to diecast collecting. Is Mortormax a good brand to go with? Does it worth paying $80 for a 1:12 scale?

How is Motormax compare to Maisto?

Please advise

Thanks!

What do you mean "a good brand to go with"? If they make models that you like looking at, then it's a good brand. If you're looking to make money, you're probably in the wrong hobby. This is about having fun, so buy whatever you enjoy, as long as it's at a price you're comfortable paying.
As for the $80.00 1/12 scale, we need more details than that. Heck, I was looking at a beatiful 1/12 Shelby last night, and that one costs $500.00.

Motor Max and Maisto are both most famous for their small-scale toys, in several colors, with nice-looking metal bodies but often awful wheels and sometimes without interiors.

They're fun to collect and play with, I have several of these, as well as the planes.

If you are new to diecast collecting, 1/12 scale is a large scale to start collecting. Buy what makes you happy.

Happy collecting!............STUTZ

Leon...IMHO Maisto and Motormax make some very nice value oriented low to moderate range 1/18 scale replicas...but they mostly retail in the $10 - $15 range. The Ertl Authenics are pretty nice and they cost a little more. IMHO the Highway 61 diecast replicas are a great value with a huge tooling inventory for around $60. Autoart, GMP, CMC...they all make some higher end 1/18 replicas for $60 + ....and even Hot Wheels Elite make some nice Ferraris for a couple of hundred buckos...

Miasto 1:18 scales are an awesome value. Often at least half as good as a higher end model for much less than half the price.
