For the 3rd consecutive winter, we will be running in The Dungeon, on our very racy 95' runline dirt oval. We will once again be running on Sundays, with points racing beginning on Sept. 30th. We plan on having a week of racing before hand, which will be posted here in the upcoming days.

Basic Race Information:

-Classes include: 1/18 Mini Sprints (Losi mini Sliders only), 1/18 open, EDM Small Block, EDM Big Block Stock, Brushless EDM, Open Sprint, Trucks, and 2wd Latemodels (following the same guidelines provided by Chico's RC Speedway).

-All races will be 4 minutes long, with bumpups for winners of lower features.

-WDRA body and weight rules apply for EDM Sportsman, EDM Small Block, EDM Modified and EDM Big Block.

-All cars are required to go to the tech table to be weighed. To help move racing along, all racers will be required to marshall, with the exceptions being those who are physically unable, those racing in back to back racers, drivers who bump up from lower mains.

-Trucks must have truck arms, truck tires, truck bodies. 27T motors only. Side damns are allowed.

-Losi Mini Slider Class will allow the use of Whiplash 1400s, ball diffs, and titanium tierods. Tekin and Mamba Brushless systems will be the only allowed brushless systems in this class.

-No Lipos are permitted in any class.

-Brushless motors allowed in the Open Sprint Car Class (10.5 or other 19T equivalent), and the Brushless EDM Class.

-Several have asked about running brushless motors in EDMs. After observing the transition to include brushless in the WDRA Small Block Class, and having read several hundred posts on numerous internet forum threads, as well as listening to drivers opinions and thoughts, we have decided that brushless motors will NOT be run in the EDM Small Block or EDM Big Block Stock Classes. However, the Novak 13.5 and 10.5 motors will be allowed in the Brushless EDM class. The bottom line is, last year we had approx. 18 BB Stock drivers (and small block drivers) on average, and we do not want to hear complaints similar to what we have heard about the two types of motors being mixed in the small block class in the series. Calvin and I feel that the best way to include them right now is for them to be run in the Brushless class. As many of you know, the dungeon hosts a very short track, so anything more than a 19 turn brushed motor is just plain insane to begin with. The few drivers looking to run 19T brushed motors will be allowed to run with the brushless EDM's.

-Race fees. Due to several racers suggestions, the first class will be $8, 2nd class will still be $5. With this increase in price for the first entry, we will be having cable turned on so that racers may enjoy watching a sporting event or a Nascar race or whatever else they may choose, while they wait to run. We have also ordered some clay to be added into the track. In addition, we will have a new pit room, located on the other side of the staircase in the track room. It has been remodeled and cleaned up, and an electrician will be adding lighting and outlets, so that we will have more room for racers to pit. A new laptop has been purchased for scoring, which was actually used this past weekend for the Empire State Dirt-Oval Championships. Finally, the track will be open 7 days a week, with the only exceptions being holidays and planned track maintenance days.

-The race season will be much like seaon, lasting till roughly middle of April. We will be having a Race of Champions at the end of the season, where drivers who win during the season will be automatic qualifiers and will be seeded into features based on the number of wins they have ( The driver with the most wins will be TQ in the A, the driver with the 2nd most wins will start 2nd, and so forth, until all race winners have been seeded). All unqualified drivers will be grouped into heats, and will run one round of qualifying and seeded behind all pre-qualified drivers. From there, we will run features with bump-ups as normal. All special events (Dual in the Dungeon, etc) will also be qualifiers for this race.

-The 3rd Annual Dual in the Dungeon will be held either Saturday January 19th or Saturday January 26th, 2008. We will have a concrete date for this race in the upcoming weeks.

That should cover most things for now. As I said, we will once again be running under WDRA guidelines. I will make copies of these rules, along with the rules drawn up for the latemodel class, and have them posted in the track room.
