Hello, and first off i would like to say that i am glad i finally found others out there that enjoy oval racing. Everywhere i go its all about road courses.
anyway, me and a few buddies have electric HPI RS4 1/10 touring cars that we are using on a cement oval track. We are very new to this stuff and learning lots. Is there anyone else using simular touring cars like this for oval racing?

I suggest that you post on the touring oval thread here on Hobbytalk (http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/showthread.php?p=2045062).
I've seen a few people run the Pro 4 on oval. It makes a good oval car. Since the Pro 4 is a shaft drive car with the batteries on the left, it can be setup similar to the TC3/TC4 on oval. The only issue with the Pro 4 is that the batteries are very close to the centerline of the chassis. For oval it is better if you can move them more to the left.
If you and your friends are all running the stock chassis or you want to be able to run road course, I recommend to not modify the car. However, there are plenty of oval conversion kits available for the TC3/Xray/JRX-S that will typically perform better than the stock road course version of the cars. Even adding a battery tray more to the left side of the car can help oval performance. Here is an example of a bolt on tray that could be used on the Pro 4 (http://www.leadingedgerccars.com/TC_3.html), but you could also make your own.
I only bring up the LTO version of touring cars in case you plan on traveling to another track so that you won't be surprised. In a way I wish everyone were forced to run the stock chassis, but some cars like the XXX-S were at a huge disadvantage on oval because the batteries were on the right side of the car. If you are running on a banked oval this isn't as big of an issue as a flat oval.
