Sliders will be kept box stock, with the possible exception of allowing foam tires. Let us know your thoughts on the stock rubber tires vs. foams.

As far as when we will have them in stock, I do not have a firm date. Dealers who placed promotional orders for larger quantities are getting theirs first, and not all of those orders have yet been filled. Small town dealers like us who can not afford to order 12 or more at a time are farther down the list.

You can get yours on order and get it quicker by placing your order at

The slider is basically a mini-t with a longer chassis, cage & sprint car body, and a little more powerful motor.

slikstr.....So you know whats going on (read the last few thread on the '06-'07 RCH thread before they "SHUT IT DOWN") You'll be able to see one soon I ordered one today. I've been thinking about getting one for awhile and I finally saw one go last night down at COMP HOBBY. It has alot of the same parts but it's totally different then the mini-ts. I know right now I'll be getting one or two more. Seeing that one go last night "STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX" on "DIRT" sold me on them.

As for tires on these things like Chris said leave them "BOX STOCK" so that anyone can buy one and run it the same day with no additional parts to buy.

EVERYTHING "STRAIGHT OUT OF THE BOX STOCK" EVEN THE RADIO!!!!

You know what's funny about the mini-t's getting out of hand...If you look at the 2 fastest cars last year at S&H they're basically stock. I slapped a pair of pancar shocks on the rear and a 0* rear toe block. Point being (as always) the high dollar car doesn't mean it's better, or needed, people just get psyched out.

The slider sure looks fun...

I think that leaving the stock rubber tires on the sliders is not the best idea. The small rubber tires tend to get a lot of build-up on them, and after a couple of minutes they may start to traction roll. It happened to me on my 18t and my old mini-t, it may not happen with these, but it just something to keep in mind.

Bret,
I think what Mike meant was not having to upgrade to a brushless motor and speed control system, etc;
Speed-wise, your car was far from stock.

Keith Harris handed me his radio Monday night and I got to run a bunch of laps with a box-stock Losi Slider. VERY COOL.

I firmly believe that this class should remain box stock, with maybe the exception of foam tires. Based on what Chris posted, if the stock rubbers gum up on carpet and traction roll, then the foams might be the answer.

The reason I feel this way is for the fact that we need an inexpensive way to get new people into the hobby, and this is just the ticket. The Losi Sliders can be run year round on both dirt and carpet. A seasoned vet or a newbie can be racing one of these for under $200, turn key.

If these take off and become as popular as I think they will, maybe offer a "modified class" for the Sliders in addition to the box-stock class, as long as you have enough entries to support both...but I'd make sure we always had a box stock class to keep cost levels down and fun levels up.

I got a Mini Slider last week. Foams would be the way to go I think. Most of the parts from a Mini T will fit, the exception being the shocks. They also dont use the receiver/speed control combo; yeah, 3 wire servo !! DSM radio and batteries look like the RC18T battery (right down the center of the chassis). Any other info u might want let me know.

Big Mike

We have lots of Mini-T parts in stock. Parts specific to the slider are not in stock yet. We have foam tires from Losi and BSR. Rubber tires from Pro-Line.
The battery packs we have are 1400's from SMC.
I would suggest you call if you need to know about stuff like this, cause I don't usually look at hobbytalk every day.

New RCH SPEC battery packs.
The new packs for the 2007/08 season will be IB4200's supplied to us initially by TQ-cells. They will have "RCH SPEC" custom printed labels under the shrink wrap, and will come assembled with intellect battery bars.
We will be getting them in small shipments, and should have about a dozen packs available late next week(about Sept. 6 or 7), then more within the next week or two.
The cost has gone up a little. Looks like the assembled packs will be about $25.
Your RCH SPEC 3800 cells will still be legal for use, and if you've taken care of them they should still perform fine.
We had several SPEC drivers test and compare 3800's and 4200's at various times last season and there was no on-track performance difference.

A couple of corrections.
Weight is 40oz. Bodies are Nascar cup or GN.
The battery packs are assembled with the positive top right, but it is ok to move the solder tabs to fit your installation.
The BSR spec tires are the ones with the yellow idenifying stripe and are available in green or gold rear and green or silver front.
The spec motors are available at the track/shop and are the Trinity handout silver can/purple endbell with our label affixed..

Only raced one night with 2 other cars, only practiced 4-5 times on the track alone. No Speed control, no motor, no servo..no radio eq., no batteries chassis, tires and body only.

This was new to me in April of 07, it has a rear pod but it's not the newest chassis that is available now.. you can see a picture in my gallery... first $160.00 takes it

Razoo:
This was an informal arrangement with myself, dave Lareau, dave Labate and gerd wolny. Tired of all the maintenance on motors. I am using a 13.5 novak and a lrp sphere speedo coming from rch of course. I believe that is what turn 4 rc is doing and neot . Everyone in the world is going brushless, lets just do it!! 13.5 is close to a 27 turn motor. We have enough people to race this class and if anyone wants to join us you are welcome. I do not know about speedo rules just 13.5 motors. And Rich this is a lot closer than turn 4. Lets keep this as simple as possible. Ken really had no opinion about this other than if we get 3 people we can race. I would like to see same rules as pro class except for the motors. If no one else races hopefully the 4 founding members of this class will race all year. I would like to see everyone put their differences aside and just race. I hope you, Darcy, and others will come back to RCH. I want to be eating pizza, or subs rather than working on my motors. Lets keep this positive and see if we can grow the brushless class looking forward to seeing everyone this fall, I believe Ken will be open on Saturday the 15th also

Ray

rcrc805
09-10-2007, 04:20 PM
Any commercially available speed control would be allowed. As for the motor, there should be some immediate discussion as to whether only the Novak 13.5(part #3413) should be allowed, or if it should be any 13.5. This should be agreed upon in the next few days by the guys getting this started, and those with immediate interest. (Dave L. , Ray, Gerd, Razoo)
We will be running on Saturday the 15th. Originally scheduled as an off night, plans have changed and we will be racing.
