Raffle Information: $2 per class

Tickets will still be given out to anyone who wants to take part in the points at each event. I tried and still will try to document who wins the race prizes donated by the tour sponsors (this is allot easier if sponsors let me know ahead of time what there going to donate at each race). I didn’t think it was going to be so hard keeping track of who won what. I believe I’ve come up with a better way of doing it and also tracking the racers entered in the points compared to racers not entering NEOT points. Bill was using a modified entry form for the last race at Maximus that I believe worked well. I will continue using it to enter people racing and keep track of race prizes and the winners of those.

We will also be raffling off a Hyperdrive Pro 3 complete car kit. Those tickets will be $1 and sold at every tour race. The car will be given away at Maximus, April 20th.

Tech:

Host Track Tech: We will be following all host track rules with no exceptions, sorry for this but to cause the least amount of headaches for the host track this is the only way to do it.

NEOT Tech: Tracks that falls under NEOT teching will adhere to a relaxed teching procedure, weight, battery (visual inspection) and the motor will be looked at thru the slots or taken apart only if asked by another racer in his/her class. I don’t want to be tearing apart motors every week. We need to keep this fun for everyone involved and not have too many unnecessary rules. I will be spot checking cars at random and expect if any racer see’s something out of line to bring it to my attention or the host track officials.

If something comes up during the tour it will be addressed at that time.

There also may be instances were a person can be DQ’ed from the host tracks race and still get NEOT points and the other way also. NEOT may DQ the person but the host track may still give then the win. This may sound confusing but let’s say a person gets DQ’ed at a track for being to low (ride height), the tour will still give him points since the tour doesn’t have a ride height rule. This is just an example, Some tracks that the tour may visit don’t weight cars, so you could win the host track race and not get any points for NEOT. I hope that makes sense to everyone. I don’t want to leave the authority of DQ’ing people from NEOT points in the hands of the host track, but we will adhere to there decisions for there race. I know this doesn’t sound simply, but I will assure you this isn’t something the racer will have to worry about. I have chosen tracks that match up well with what the tour is all about and follow the vast majority of the same rules.

This section will need some work!! I hope the racers understand why the tour needs to do it this way until it can have stand alone races.

The bonus points could mean the difference between winning and loosing in some cases. I believe you should be rewarded for supporting the tour and spending all that time and money.

Looks good but i'm not crazy about the idea of 10 bonus attendance points. The winner of last years stock class won only by the fact that he attended more races than 2nd place, I realize attendance is neccesary but LESS emphasis on attendance and the outcome would be nice.

What I am trying to say is that if you attend 6 of 10 events and win all 6 you could still lose to someone who attended all 10. Maybe a bonus to drivers who complete 6 events? Just a better balance between finish VS attendance is all, something to think about. As it sits attendance plays more of a role in finish points than how you actually finish. food for thought

The winner of last years stock class didn't win because he attended more races, He attended the same number of races as you did and the third place person. He did attend more then some others, but if you don't make the minimum amount of races you can't expect to beat people who make more races then you.

Yes if you attend 6 races and don't TQ any of them and some guy finishes 1st the four times you aren't there and 2nd twice and TQ's each of the 6 races he attends he'll beat you also. Without even getting any extra points, while attending the same number of races as you, even thou your avg finish is better. You would have 6 win, no TQ = 600 points the other guy 4 wins, 2 seconds, and 6 TQ's, = 604 points. If we had a similiar bonus structure in place for last year it wouldn't have changed points in the least, Howard was the only person to compete in every event and even if I gave him 10 points he wouldn't have beaten Clayton. With the price of gas and the tracks being more then 4 hours apart I feel the bonus is a good idea and will stand for this year.

In regards to TP's posting on the old NEOT thread. I think you make very good points and agree to most if not all but still wanted to comment. I think since the brushless is so new to the sk class that I even suggested maybe we should wait and test some more like the 17.5 before we go buck nutty and offer more classes to the tour. However I did find that the 13.5 is a good speed between stock and 19t. Looking back to when we were racing 6 cell stock s/k's with solid chassis, granted it was a more strict of a class as far as rules etc but they were still ballistic fast for a solid car, infact I am willing to bet the 13.5 4 cell is slower than running 6 cell stock. People like speed and when its speed and virtualy no maintence involved, its a given people will run the class, 13.5 is taking off at turn 4(k/n) very fast, past 2 weeks I would say close to 10 people have it now. 5 at my home track. I wasnt even aware that mike added it to the tour until he posted the class but I do know he said he needed to make a choice asap. I am in the process of asking and confirming to all the sk guys who have the 13.5 systems in the sk cars now if they infact are going to attend and race each tour event, but I still think the majority will run brush stock. Me personaly if the 13.5 doesnt run in the sk cars, I would run 13.5 pan, but again it would be the same problem in pan car, just because its offered doesnt mean they will show, like last years pan stock which died QUICK.

we ended up getting our own scale for our series down here so there wouldnt be a big difference between tracks. just a thought incase you dont have that already
goodluck with everything

Ken,
Good points that you make. I think ultimately it'll probaly be 13.5 SK. I can't really see it reversing now that 10 have them and more are getting them. Afterall the lion's share of the SK's come from our area. I don't how many SK's are out there, but of the ones that travel and race the neot, I think 10+ is a sizeable percentage of the 40-45 that show at the bigger races.
For now finances and my current investment in stock motors keep me from switching. I know I'll have to bite the bullet either before the series or midway. I hate the idea of jumping classes halfway through, but we'll see what I can do.

If NEOT SK class does brush only class and I am there and you don't have a brush motor I will lend any one a motor.

MIKE you are doing a GREAT job with NEOT.

buying the system is the hard part for most because of the big investment right away, but most dont think it will save you in the long run. The past couple weekends have been awesome not having to change motors or cutting, dyno'n all that crap but its not going to put you in the winners circle just because you have a BL system. The BL systems makes you work to get fast, but allows you to spend all your time on the setup and not the motor. makes you think for sure.

Mike the rules and point system is really good if you ask me. i do think anyone willing to race every event should get a bonus. also thanks for having 2 events at marshalls. should be fun! also i think having 4300 with 19t is a good idea and should make for a bigger/better class then if it was seperate. good luck!

Maybe 1 point for each race you make, but they do not get dropped when you throw away your worst runs.
Just a thought.

First Race is less then one month away Maximus RC, Sept 22 and 23. Just wanted to let you guys know I'm trying very hard to get more Sponsprs for this year while keeping the ones that have soported then tour in the best. I haven't really heard to much about the posted rules so far so I'm going to take that as a good sign most racers agree with them. Please E-mail me MSV3875@aol.com or post here with any questions.

Just a thought.

I kept thinking about your idea and it just never seemed right to me. If you give one point each driver at every race they attend it wouldn't matter until you started dropping races. I could give points to drivers after they start dropping races, 2 points when you make 7 races, and 2 more points for each race after that. Evwen that idea doesn't seem like enough of a reward to a racers who makes all 10 races. As of now the 10 point bonus will stay.
