Just and FYI... Looks like we will be racing on the indoor oval tomorrow night as the outdoor track is pretty wet with more rain on the way.

Tuesdays will be our regular dirt oval night as we head into the fall and winter seasons. Track opens at 3, racing at 7PM.

Thanks! Brian

Here are the results for dirt oval last Tuesday night at Victory in Green Bay: Indoor racing is starting to heat up on Tuesday nights! I think we had nearly 20 racers which is a great start to what looks like a fun fall and winter season.

BTW... we just received another shipment of Losi Sliders earlier this week! This is turning into a HUGE class!

Here are the top 3 A-Mail finishers in each class:

Latemodel Stock
1st Dennis Flavion (Dennis was a ROCKET for the first time out this season!)
2nd Tom Knuth
3rd Chuck Ravey

Stock Truck
1st Joe Slimmer (Looks like Joe is going to pick up where he left off last indoor season!)
2nd Brian McKinnen
3rd Randy Kempen

18th Mini Sprints (Sliders)
1st Jim Courtney (He had a fast lap of 4.84sec. Only racer under 5 seconds!)
2nd Clete Dart
3rd Thomas Schultz

Thanks to everyone who made it out to race last Tuesday! Hope to see you all next week!

What kind of rules do you have for the Losi Slider Class? Got some guys that want to come up and race. Tires, Battery, Motor, etc? Thanks

What kind of rules do you have for the Losi Slider Class? Got some guys that want to come up and race. Tires, Battery, Motor, etc? Thanks

Hey, thanks for asking! Here are the Slider Rules as we have them.

Modifications you can make are:

- Ball cups, studs and turnbuckles
- May upgrade to 6-cell 1400 battery pack
- Electronics (Servo, ESC, RX, Radio)
- Gearing can be changed but must use stock kit RX-280 motor. (#LOSB1216)
- Motor brushes and springs can be changed.
- Paint
- Shock oil and springs but must use the stock shocks.
- Wheels for a different look but must use the stock rubber tires. (Narrow front, wide rear)

Otherwise everything else is box stock. Most of the rules we have aapply to making the Slider a bit more bullet proof and tunable.

This class is getting bigger every week. BTW... the track was fantastic tonight... as smooth as I have ever seen it! Now that it has settled for a year the banking and straights are way smooth and fast!

I'll be posting the results of tonights racing soon.

Thanks! Brian

What are the rules for Latemodel stock class. motor, battery, tires, etc. are you allowing the brushless stock motor 13.5?

What are the rules for Latemodel stock class. motor, battery, tires, etc. are you allowing the brushless stock motor 13.5?

Right now the 18th Latemodel class is pretty much an open class. Last year we had a bunch of 18th scales running foam or rubber tires. Open motor rules (which means brushless), liPO batteries, Latemodel bodies with side dams and spoilers. These things are rockets! 3.5 second laps at times. I think we will be mixing the Losi Slider latemodels in with that class... 18T's and Losi Minis.

We don't want to dilute the classes to the point that there will be way small classes that racers loose interest in.

Thanks for your interest! Brian

Is there a 1/10 latemodel class?

Brian F
09-19-2007, 12:08 PM
I'm sorry.. I was stuck on 18th scale land! LOL.

Yes, we run a Stock 10th Scale Latemodel class. 4WD touring chassis, Latemodel body, foam or rubber tires (rubber touring tires seem to be the choice right now), 4200 battery limit.

Here are the motor/battery combos we run in that class:

- 6-cell Brushed Stock Motor
- 6-cell 17.5 Novak Brushless Motor
- 5-cell 13.5 Novak Brushless Motor

All three are very closely matched on the track. It's who gets through turn 3 on the tri-oval the best that seems to be the fast car!

Hope this answers your question!

Thanks! Brian

Here are the results from last Tuesday's racing on the Tri-oval. The racer count continues to increase with each week.

Top 3 A-Main in each class:

Modified 10th Sprint
1) Buddy Paul 66 / 5.03
2) Tom Knuth 63 / 5.03

18th Mini-Sprint (Sliders)
1) Randy Kempen 56 / 5.04
2) Jim Courtney 53 / 5.00
3) Paul Peck 53 / 5.06

10th Latemodel Stock
1) Chuck Ravey 64 / 5.02
2) Tom Knuth 63 / 5.03
3) Dennis Flavion 57 / 5.00

10th Stock Truck
1) Packfan 61 / 5.03
2) Brian McKinnen 59 / 5.02
3) Randy Kempen 58 / 5.01

The mix and match of the brushed / brushless is working out really well so far. Joe Slimmer TQ'd the truck class with 64 laps using a stock brushed motor but Packfan won the A-Main.

Looking forward to next Tuesday!

Had a good night of racing on the high-banks last night! Largest turnout this season so far. The Sliders put on a good show with some 4-wide racing and the 10th scale sprint class is growing each week.

Thanks to the guys from Point for making the trip over to race with us!

Can't wait till next Tuesday!

Make you plans now! This Saturday is a Friday Night Special Dirt Oval race at Victory in Green Bay. Shop and track open at 9am, racing at 4PM with 3 qualifiers and the mains.

Stay all day and practice on the high banked clay tri-oval before the racing begins or come in the afternoon and slug it out with some of the best dirt oval racers in the area!

Should be a great time and a chance for some racers outside of Green Bay to make the trip.

See you there! Brian

- Three rounds of heats.
- Bump-ups from the C to B-Main and B to A-Main plus a ‘Lucky Dog’ advancing to the A-Main.

The Slider class is pretty stock. Here are the changes you can make...

- Motor: Stock unit or Venom 370
- Shocks be upgraded to aluminum.
- Springs and shock oil can be changed.
- Tire INSERTS can be changed, but you must use the same tires.
- Turnbuckles, Ball cups and Balls can be changed.
- Batteries upgraded to 1400 Max, 6-cell.
- Must use stock Motor connectors.
- No extra wings or wickers.
- Wheels can not be modified to be wider.
- Must have all roll cage parts installed.
- CVD's or Lodi MIP Slipper can be used.

I think this about covers it... there may be a couple other things but mainly it's a stock class. Only upgrades to make the Slider more durable and a coupel things that are hard to tech.

Sounds like the 15th could be a good race! Lots of interest!

Just an FYI for the Stock Truck and Stock Latemodel classes. There are three combinations you can run in Dirt Oval stock classes at Victory;

1. 6-cell Stock Brushed 27-turn motor.

2. 6-Cell 17.5 Novak Brushless motor.

3. 5-cell 13.5 Novak Brushless motor.

These three combinations ahve been very close in racing so far and should allow the racers to choose what they are comfortable with.

Just a reminder that the Wisconsin State Slider Championships have been moved up to January 5th 2008 because of the Green bay Packers possibly hosting a playoff game that weekend. Racers were finding it hard to get rooms for that weekend.

Start making your plans! We will be posting pictures of the trophys and plaques soon!

For the state Slider Shootout on January 5th Victory will be including a Duratrax 1400 6-cell battery pack free with the purchase of a Losi Slider bought from now until the race! This has been the hot battery to run on the clay high-banks at Victory.

Hopefully this will spur even more racers that have been on the fence about getting themself a Slider to race that weekend. Remember there will be a race Friday at Oshkosh and the Slider Shoot-out Saturday at Victory Hobbies in Green Bay.

Happy Holidays! Brian

A big THANK YOU too everyone that made the race yesterday! It was a ton of fun! I may be getting myself one of those Chad Smith creations! http://www.rctech.net/forum/classic_images/smilies/nod.gif They really got around the track pretty well and waaaay fast! Did I hear 74 laps?

The sprinters that were up here this weekend showed us all how well foams will hook up if you have the right set-up and don't groove them too deep making them squirm too much on the track. I think they will work on the trucks just as well!

I'll be posting Saturday's results tomorrow on our website.
