This is going to be very tough to put into words so please bear with me.

I have raced all over the Southeast, many years ago that is, and have been to all kinds of events both big and small. So I must say without reservation this was the single most organized, well run event I have personally ever attended.

From the time we arrived on Wednesday, checked in, made the obligatory trip to the Hobby Shop and got set up we were not only treated with courtesy and the utmost respect but there was never a moment tht you did not know EXACTLY what was going on and where you needed to be.

The schedule was posted and stringently adhered too and this even went off without a hitch. To my eyes anyway. I am sure there were some bumps but Donnie and Crew handled them with ease.

EVERY single race was announced with accuracy and professionalism that all tracks and events should strive duplicate.

The crew in the Hobby Connection were GREAT, not only do they have most any part you can imagine, but the staff actually KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING!!! WOW what a refreshing change!

The concession sand crew was always busy, friendly and fast. GREAT BBQ!!

There is a ton of work that goes into these events, Donnie and his TEAM made it look like they have been hosting Nationals for years. So take a few minutes and tell them you appreciate it. I know they will love to hear the compliments.

They hosted the class that I run, Nitro Pan for the first time in ROAR history too and made us feel right at home. NOT once did they make us feel like we did not belong.

We made the trip up a month ago to check the place out, ran the NATS and will be back for the GASCAR race too. A 500-lapper I might add. I cannot wait to get back.

So, Donnie, Plain-Ol-Dave, I certainly hope you see this and know that the Coyote Racing Team was honored to race at your facility and will gladly return as often as we can.

KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK!!!

I have to echo those thoughts. This was one of the best run races I"ve been to in a long time. Donnie and the staff really had it together for this one. Congrats and we'll be back real soon.

My thoughts exactly. Here are a few highlights I liked:

One time and everytime. No waiting and you could perfectly time battery charging.

Covered tech tables. No standing out in the hot sun to heat tires or run through tech.

Open tech area. Tech inspection was done in plain sight and NO funny business. No questions at all, it was either legal or not.

Stagger starting grid for the mains was AWESOME. Pole sitter had the advantage and only had a few hickups on the starts.

Plenty of on track power. Not once did our light or A/C kick off.

Hobbyshop was FULLY stocked and had just about every part you needed.

Track Crew was friendly and very helpfull. Most of the time there was no waiting to go through tech.

Coming off the track the top 3 cars were TORE down and checked.

Futaba, NOVAK, HD, KSG, PRS, and many more on site for help with product support.

EVERYBODY received at least one give-away-prize. Thanks to all who donated.

Announcing was great. Countdown to start, leader pace, high or low when crashing, room for the leader, sponsor plugs, and very loud so you could here him PERFECTLY! lol

AWESOME job guys................................

This race was very well run, I have not been to a big race run this well since the "Whip" closed down. Bob Hosche and his crew had it nailed when it came to a mojor event but I have to say "I think the Carolina R/C guys stuck to the schedule better than any race I have ever seen" The hobby shop is outstanding and the staff very helpful. The track food was very good as well and they had plenty of ice, a real bonus as the heat was nearly unbearable. I know I will be back again and again!

Definitely the best Paved Oval Nats I've ever been to. The effort that Donnie and the Carolina R/C Complex crew put into this race showed as this was the largest Oval Nationals in several years. Great job by all- thanks to Donnie, Jimmy, Dave Aljoe, and the Hobby Connection for an awesome event.

I agree that was the most organized race that I have attended in a long time. It was nice to see a race stick to a time line and follow it through from Wed. till Sunday. Most impressed was how well informed everyone was with all that was going on..Jeff Carapellatti

Scott nailed it. I saw nothing that needed improving. This was a land mark Nationals for us Nitro racers and we appreciate Donnie fighting for us to get in. I know it meant a lot to all of us.

This was by far the best Nationals I have ever attended. From the way it was run to the way you were treated, GREAT job Donnie. And send my thanks to David and his crew as well.

How did you handle pit lane for the nitro classes?

Kinda curious about that for our oval track.

Thanks,
Paul

Our pit road it about 5' wide with a section that is about 8' wide, we seperated it with a piece of pipe and then the other end of pit road they had to be on the concrete or over the pipe to fuel. This leaves the main pit road lane 5' open for the pit road. They were two that got a stop and go for not being over the pipe.

Jesse, Thanks fer tha vote of confidence but there are really good tracks and crews out there, competing for these big races. Seems like since there has NOT been any word as yet, that should mean there is some stiff Competition for the next Nats.
You might also be a bit biased by the results that you personally had at the nats. Top five cars within 4 seconds and you in 3rd, just 2.19 behind the leader and in the Stock class no less. That's like ONE turn too wide or ONE "Pipe" check out of the entire race. It was some really tight racing.

Rest assured, when we git it next time, You will ALL be more than welcome at the Carolina RC Complex.

Carolina RC is a great track, but it's time to have it North of the Mason Dixon Line. I vote for Freddies, Ravena, OH. Now that's an AWESOME TRACK!!

They would have had to bid on it, which as far as I know he didn't. It doesn't get decided via internet poll.

pmsimkins: So how are you affiliated with ROAR to have such "privy information"??
