Pat is already running them and I just ordered both a 6-cell and 4-cell version. From everything I've heard, they are nice cells. I'm planning to run it for the supertruck challenge in a few weeks. gndprx 08-20-2007, 09:11 PM Well, my 4-cell pack cycled twice with good numbers, but was extremely hot. I could adjust my cutoff to compensate, but then I won't reach their guaranteed 500 run time numbers at 30A. MY 6-CELL PACK VENTED ON THE FIRST FRIGGIN' CYCLE!! That's right. 4.4A charge, 30A discharge from my Turbo 35BL and it vented the last cell in the pack on the very first cycle at 418 into the discharge. Between this and my LiPo issues, I think I'm done with MaxAmps. I'll go back to TQ or VooDoo and risk self discharging IB cells. At least they were less dangerous. gndprx 08-20-2007, 09:39 PM Not even a full charge cycle  :freak: Stratus54 08-21-2007, 02:18 AM Are you sure the alligator clip didnt short to the case causing the problem? gndprx 08-21-2007, 08:12 AM Pretty sure. The green cell wrapping was not pulled back like in those pictures until after it started to melt my sensor lead. If it did short to the case, something caused the cell wrap to peel back first exposing the raw case. I was a few feet away when I heard the hissing start and as I turned around I started to see the lead melting and killed the charger as quick as I could. It had been fine for the actual charge and for about 3/4 of the discharge when this happened. I guess I can't be 100% sure though as I was more concerned with getting it off the charger and outside the garage just in case. gndprx 08-21-2007, 12:40 PM Okay, problems with the cell aside, I will say that I have been very pleased dealing with MaxAmps support. I have been emailing with Austin quite a bit recently about some LiPo items and have now started talking with him about these 4.4k cells. Hopefully we can get this all ironed out as good customer service will always keep me around as a repeat customer and MaxAmps is providing just that so far. vBulletin® v3.8.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, vBulletin Solutions, Inc.
