Aurora Xlerators for sure, type 2 chassis? Never had one.
Bodies in good shape with good graphics can bring a decent price - "major surgery required" hurts a lot. Does anyone do anything at all with these chassis?

Looks like an "Aurora Accelerator" #2781 Cougar.
Per the Beers bible this wasnt listed as coming with a Type 2 chassis (Inline instead of pancake) Who's to say what happened in this cars past life LOL.
Truthfully havent seen a lot of those Cougar around, hopefully others will chime in soon!
It's listed as a 3= desirable

Thats what it is. Someone takkes those motors puts a straight axle up front tunes them and runs them, claims they do very well. There is a website explaining it all but I cant recall, havent had my coffee yet.

this was Aurora's first in-line chassis, a precursor to the Gplus, if I'm not mistaking
You can dremmel out everything up front, glue a small tube in front to hold the axel and away you go. I like to use the tubes from inside bic pens, they work perfectly as axel holders. throw in some sliver brushes from Neil's Wheels and you'll have one fat t-jet chassis

Why were the front end on these chassis molded in the turned position just curious if anyone knows. Does it help with making left hand turns if so its gotta be a near car stopper on the righ hand turns.

I think it was for a slottless oval. There were variations of the position on the pickup shoes for the chassis

The wheels were canted to the left because the "left" lane of the track was the one that each driver had control over their own indivigual car in. The "right" lane was full power all the time and the drivers had no control over their cars until they "turned" back into the left lane.
