View Full Version : Stupid Squirrel's new Pro Stock Taxi
69Stang 08-11-2007, 12:56 AM As many of you know, John and I trade customs from time to time. I had built a newer Crown Vic P/S Taxi last year, and John sent me this one and said drag race it as well.
To keep in the correct time line, I left it more stock then altered. This kept it looking like a progression of drag taxi's, first the Dodge, then later came the Vic. Thus the drag bar instead of wheelie bars, ( stole that idea from Dr. Olds, thanks so much!) and the low hood scope. Left the decals more in less in tact as well. Added only a few decals.
John seemed to dig it, and hope you do as well. :)

stupidsquirrels 08-11-2007, 01:18 AM I want to publicly thank Mr. Stang for taking on this project.
After he RAOK'd me with the Crown Vic last year I just had to have him tackle this one.
And he hit it out of the park!
Pics absolutely do not do this car justice!!!!!!!!
Thanks Ward, it's perfect!!!!!!!!

LIGHTNING44 08-11-2007, 12:54 PM AWSOME JOB:thumbsup: I would love to see that thing go down the track:lol:
Cool stuff, Ward. Very thoughful idea, and fantastic execution.
Any chance we can see both cabs side by side? Drag race for tips ;)
69Stang 08-12-2007, 12:30 AM Thanks guys, you all make me feel good! To answer a couple of questions, yes Lummox, I had to move the axles upwards out of the original channel to create the rake. The larger rear tires just did not Move it enough on there own.
It clears the ground in the front, but barely... To keep it rolling, I had to fab an axle tube to pass the rolling shaft through and just glued ( 2 part epoxy) it all together.
The Johnny's car service I hand made with press type on a clear decal sheet ( did I tell you people how old I was?) and the "John" came off a 1:64 name sheet of about 100 nascar drivers. It was old stock from the MPC company.
And yep G_G, here is pics of Squirrel's other ride. I cant do them side by side as they were built over a year apart and John has them both. Meaning I never even had the both here at the same time to snap a family pic!
The pics are not as good, but you can see the ride grew more "pro stock" with the newer car. True slicks, bars, bigger chute, PS hood scoope, etc. Just a bigger, faster car. Enjoy....
