It looks like there will be a new dirt oval track in my area. Several of my customers that run pan cars are looking at getting into dirt oval. What classes are being run? What kinds of cars and motors? Most of these guys think they would like to run 2 wheel drive, gas cars with late model bodies. I'm not even sure there is a class. Please let me know what the rest of the world's doing.
Thanks,

Mitch,
There is such a thing as a 2WD Nitro Late Model class, as well as many tracks that runs them- a few tracks are in the NC area.

They run .12 motors, some 3 port, some 5 port. For most racers, especially just starting out with nitro, a 3 port is plenty of power.

Get in touch with Arnie and Rob at Custom Works for their GBX Nitro cars, and David at Kranzel's for their Nitro Terminators. Between Custom Works and Kranzels, you'll have the sources you need you offer the best Nitro Dirt Oval Cars.

Hope this helps-

The guys have been running 1/10 Buggys mostly B4 B3 with 13.5T brushless Novack,Spectrum controlers,Team associate or factory team Associate with Mini Pins.T-4 1/10,1/8 nitro Cen's , GT-2 1/10 2wd, A couple of east coast mods,Rustlers electric which dont hold up and Nitro sports which dont hook up.A lot depends on the banking and how smooth the track is as well as type of material in the track.Weather its kept damp or dry and dusty. They also ran Revos beofore we got the bords up.They where alright with the Hancore pipe would jump it alot.Main things breaking where front and rear A arms shock towers.

Mitch, I am here in NC with you. Todd is right when it comes to CW and Kranzels for the cars. We run in Cherryville at C&S Raceway. If any of your guys that are interested in DO, they should make a short roadtrip down to C&S. There are probably 15+ or so of us "regulars" there and can answer any questions you have, also,Rob is one of the regulars. I run Elect Mod EDM, I would love to have some competition, cant get too many Elect people into it anymore, because of Nitro. Also, we have a big reg group of NTC3 LM's there about every weekend. LMK if you have questions. Kevin

I think after talking to a few people, I understand there will be a another class starting next year. I understand it to be a late model or wedge body, 2 wheel drive with a stock or spec .12 motor. I think thats what most of us that run gas pan cars would like to try. Most of my customers aren't going to put out the money for the motors to run the "fast class", and a lot of my customers aren't interested in electric, at least untill Lipos and brushless takes over.
Thanks,
