View Full Version : A late Willys...
tjd241 08-09-2007, 09:04 AM Yeah... only about a week late!!... DOH! Circumstances beyond my control I'm afraid. Threw me off schedule... but once I got back in the saddle it was still a fun build. My SOLUTION for being so late is that this one will go to Coach's HHT auction. Needs a good home. Thanks for looking.
Better late than never I guess. nuther dave

tjd241 08-09-2007, 10:05 PM I feel lucky to have a place to see the work of others and show a bit of my own.
Now check this out... Grandpa and Sonny.....
I modeled "Gramps" a few years ago. Kinda looks like the Old School and New School lined up side by side. Man... think about it... "The Willys".... it just gives and gives and gives. Gotta be one of the most customized bodies ever produced. 1:1 or otherwise. thanks again...nd
videojimmy 08-09-2007, 10:32 PM That Chad Littel car is awesome. Did you cast the whole body or just the front end?
tjd241 08-10-2007, 08:15 AM That's just the way it looks. I think it's just looking different due to where I cut off the fenders and sanded it smooth and also because the paint has really "thickened" the body. What I did fill in on the body was the part where the back of the front fenders meets the body (once cut out) normally has a missing quarter circle. I added a filler piece to square that off. I also added a filler on the rear fenders (once cut out) on the inside of the body that completely covered the area where the fenders once occupied. I cut the axle holes smaller here so as to match up with the hot-rod hubs diameter. nd

Looks just like ya unbolted the fenders and left the inner. Very realistic.
