Hey all, I'm new to this board, and new to the RC track game as well. I'm opening a track In my home town of Kahnawake, Just on the south shore of Montreal. The track is a 50' by 32' carpet oval, pvc barriers. Classes will be 1/10th pan- 6 cell stock motors, Nascar style body, and 1/10th 4wd sedan, open class. THe track is currently ready for practice, which is held on wednesday from 7pm to 11pm, and saturday, same times. I have an older AMB 20 system. A full race schedule will be announced once there's some good attendance numbers. I'm open to any suggestions, and will gladly answer any questions. Thanks!

Fast Freddy, it shows that you are new to the RC Track game. Sorry Buddy, but 6-cell pan racing has not existed for years! In fact, 6-cell racing will also be a thing of the past in off-road and sedan racing (Europe has already adopted the 5-cell rule).

Just a little of friendly advice,if you want anybody to attend your New track, you better get ready to accomodate 4-cell racers. That is all that exists around here. If you want more speed, I suggest that you open a 13.5 Brushless class (4-cell, of course!).

Also, you will have no choice but to update your counting system because most racers own their own personal transponders. We been using them for years and I don't think that many racers will appreciate making unessesary holes in their bodies to accomodate your system.

I hope that you can post some pictures of your track soon (Also, the address and directions would help!!). This should help promote it.

Antonio, Thanks for the advice. The reason I have a 6 cell class is because majority of the racers are kids who don't have much money, and most of them use 6-cell stick packs. The main reason they got into pan cars is because of the relatively low cost (I get cars for kids who ask, from ebay. the most i've paid so far was $145 for a 10l3 fully equipped) I don't see making a 4-cell class as a problem at all, if there is enough participation. as is, there are 14 or 15 6-cell racers.

As for the transponders, I'm not exactly rich either, And a good deal came up for the system i have, so i decided to ditch the old "manual punch" system and go with the AMB. Eventually, if the track goes well, i'll upgrade. as of now though, i don't think too many people will fuss about a little hole in the body.
