I am new to the offroad stuff, I just bought a used Mugen MBX5 Prospec and I need some info on steering servo mounting and setup. I have read alot of posts stateing that you need to make sure and set the endpoints. could someone give me a run through of how you setup all this. The setup I am useing is, Spektrum DX 3.0 with Hitec HS-945MG servos.

Quick rundown.
1 With linkage disconnected, zero out the trim on the radio.
2 Connect the linkage with the servo horn in the vertical position... (pointing up at 12 o'clock)
3 adjust the turnbuckle that connects the servo horn to the servo saver... so that the wheels point straight ahead.
4 set the endpoints on the radio to allow for full range of movement left to right (as far as the steering linkage will allow)
5 back off 3 clicks from max endpoint travel.
6 use radio trim to fine tune... so that the truck will drive in a straight line.
7 enjoy

Thanks for the info!
What causes the servo to hum so to speak? If you move the tire a little bit it stops.

945s are not digital, but the hum is there because the servo has a tiny bit of strain trying to center itself... no harm being done.
If you could hear your servo while the truck is running... it would be screaming GET ME OUTTA HERE :jest:

Cool, I was just kinda worried I would hate to mess one of them up.
