Hi all,
What was the car that Jack Lemon drove in the 1963 movie, Under the Yum Yum Tree?

If I saw a pic or a clip from that I could problee tell ya
I'm pretty good with car id-ing.

Edit: I just read a very vauge discription of the car ~
Any chance the doors opened in a normal fashon, but the UPPER window
area of the door opened in a gull-wing manner???
If so, I might know what the car is.

The best online resource for movie cars is www.imcdb.org but they don't have anything from Under the yum yum tree. I'll look around, see what else I can find.

Hi all,

I was wondering the same thing. Here are some screen shots I saved:

The side windows are glass slats that are opened like those old crank-operated jalousie windows that '50s houses had in the breezeways.

I sure don't recognize this one. Does it look familiar to anyone here?

Thanks for posting the pics BluntFronts. I searched several sites, but I didn't have any luck finding pics of the car.

Could it be a custom job for the movie?

Could it be a custom job for the movie?

It's a possibility that the car will be in the credits at the end of the movie.

Lummox will let us know.

Thanks for posting the pics BluntFronts. I searched several sites, but I didn't have any luck finding pics of the car.

You're welcome. To me it looks like some kind of Bordinat/Ghia creation, but this car didn't turn up in any of my searches either. This is going to bug me for awhile. :p

I deleted the rest of the movie weeks ago, incl. the end credits, which I didn't watch.

Although most closing credits back then weren't very detailed, we can still hope for the best.

Thanks spencer1984 - I'm glad to find out what that car is (or was). Nice website; it's great to see that 1970 El Gato again, too.

Yeah no doubt, I always thought the El Gato was outstanding.
I don't think it got the recognition it deserved.

Wow, now THAT would be an interesting piece ~ say in 1:43rd scale.

How about a JL El Gato?!?
