A while back, i had some resin that was getting old so, instead of just letting it spoil, i started casting away. I just looked through my mold sets and started casting my favorite models. I had enough resin to cast about 8 bodies. A few months later, i had an itch to start a new project. However, the weather was really bad and i didn't feel like making the drive to the hobby shop to buy new materials (i was out of paint, decal sheets, everything). Well, i had some leftover Testors dark blue, white and black paint laying around. Not enough paint in any of the bottles to finish an entire car but, if i combine all 3 together........ Well, this is the color i came up with. I called it Medium-Cobolt Blue (as good a name as any i guess :) ). Checked my old decal sheets to see if any were still usable, added a little hand-painted design and VIOLA!!

You never know when those old leftover materials might come in handy.

 I have a leftover story!I have bought so many little AFX 911 Porsches for my collection, that when I got one with a stain in the blue area,I tossed it in the junk box.I was bored today and decided to not be so wasteful, pulled her out..some sanding later,a quick coat of variprime, more sanding, color, then clear..I got a neat little ride on the cheap, enjoy the pics!

Great build!

I'm a recycler too! The bulk of my of my collection is other peoples leftovers and stuff I couldnt just throw away.

Most of my favorite stuff comes from the depths of the scrap box! Ya just never know when that particular little nibblet might come in handy.

I love that blue. You got any left??? Would love to have a Pontiac GTO in that color. I could send you a body if you are so inclined to paint one. Maybe this is where you can buy my vote....JK......LOL.

I always thought Porsches looked best when dressed in a shiny coat formal black paint! Sweet.
