I'll have a team there that weekend. In fact I'll be camping out there Friday through Sunday. The Oak hill boys always got something going on. I here possible bon fire, trophy races, oval, electric and nitro track available up until iron man starts.

Anyone else going? I hate to think the Rookies are going to just walk away with our own cash??????

Great weather on the horrizon for the ironman race. The track is under construction by Tom. Whom comes up with some great tracks. From what I hear even the regulars are in for a treat. For those who haven't been Oakhill sits on 14 acres with port a john on site. Plenty of room a sleep over.

I've got my car and camping gear together, now where did I put those team members.... Word is there will be a bon fire for the die hard racers who brave the eliments... mmmm smores

our team ran a ironman race in lorain and it was one of the most fun days racing i ever had in this hobby / sign up / you won't regret it and remember it's not the fastest team that will win but the team that can keep their equipment together for 2 hours / can't wait till saturday / it's going to be a blast.

kmberie

Can't wait either. The weather will be perfect this weekend for the race!

Remember Track opens @ 10:00am Saturday for Practice and signups and tech inspections for marking of the chassis (an un-removeable sticker placed on the chassis to be sure the same car is being run the entire weekend), fuel tank size and to be sure fuel lines etc follow basic ROAR guidelines.

Qualifiers start at 12:00pm Saturday.

After the Ironman Qualifiers there will be open practice for the Electric trophy races that will not start before 6pm.

There is talk of a bonfire Saturday night! Remember no alcoholic beverages on the grounds! The track has soft drinks, snacks, microwave sandwiches/french bread pizza and ice cream available.

jazjato

Nitro qualifiers start at noon. Depending on on number of folks depend on when qualifing ends. Nomatter what time qualifing ends tracks are open to elcetric and nitro practice until 6:00pm. Then Electric starts qualifing for under the lights trophy race.

Qualifying results.

The K&B Crew TQ'd

The Erie RC Raceway team came is second

The Pleasant Valley team was third

and the Hobby Universe Team was fourth

Remember this was only for about a total of 20 feet of real estate on the starting line, the race will be 2 hours, a lot can happen, have your equipment in tip top shape and drive smart! The teams worked on their cars until after 2am in the morning, everybody had spys in each others pits, it's gonna be a fun day of racing!

The final results:

The K&B Crew took top honors

The Pleasant Valley Team came away with second

The Erie RC Raceway Team was third

The Hobby Universe Team came in forth

Just so you all know the day was not perfect for any team. Each team had to over come a unique set of challenges. You think you have every base covered but things happen that you just do not expect. I know one team had a broken rear shock, another had to do a motor change and one team had an 1800+ second lap while struggling with and front drive shaft CVD. And even though in the closing minutes of the race there was no way of improving or losing position every team kept bringing their cars to the pits and getting them back out. Every car was running on the last lap. Congrats to all!

Also some of these cars between practice. qualifying and the race itself had close too or over six hours on them in the 2 days as most practiced, qualified and raced a single car all weekend, that is what makes it IRONMAN!

To the Oak Hill crew. You guys are Awesome!!! Zerbe , Chris , Kevin , We knew you guys could put on a great local deal, but the way you handled this show was "Top Notch" . You guys really go out of your way to make everyone feel welcome ! like no other track I have been to. The Bon fire / corn roast was great! :woohoo: Anyone of you guys from other threads that may be reading this, you need to come out and give these guys a try!!! You will not be disappointed. I hope you guys do this again next year and I hope you have at least double the entries. The new track layout is excellent!!! Nice job Joe  Hopefully I will be able to make it out at least one more time before you know what comes. You guys "ROCK" thanks again
