Well, I was one of the many that got very excited about the Blue Shark being introduced in this Batch of NSF. Well, it seems that a chase vehicle(s) has been created by issuing this model with a scorpion tampo as well as the original "86" tampo on the hood of this model. It has been recently reported that these two variations were produced in equal numbers (50% each). In theory MBX has made this model twice as hard to find as apposed to the other models.

Now the good part, I was lucky enough yesterday when I visited one of the 6 WalMarts in a 40 mile radius and found the other variation, Scorpion.

Here are a few shots I just made to show the variations, enjoy olesarge90/Gill

Oh, I failed to mention that along with the Scorpion I found the remains of the current batch minus the White VE Golf GTI. Those could be trade bait, HUH?

These look like they could be made using the original 1972 tooling, and the color is spot on  Aside from the metal rather than chrome motor and gray rather than white driver and skinny rather than fat tyres it really has that 1972 look captured

I found this one along with a camaro, Merc cougar and an International CXT truck on Sunday at a Wally World 30+ miles away from my hometown. These were the first new superfasts/streakers I've seen since last December. My blue shark has the "86" markings on it. Thanks for the pics!

EDIT: My blue shark actually has the other markings on it and not the "86" after closer inspection as I was not at home when I typed on this thread earlier. My apoligies.

These were copied from the older model. The tool is a new one created recently. The older tool no longer exists. I sent both versions to Michael Heralda at Mattel last year and he was very careful to re-create them as close as possible. I think he did an excellent job.

Excellent reproduction right down to the metal chassis.
