Matchbox 2008 Report -
Saturday nights festivities went off w/out incident. We were shown a video of the process of mold making to packaging. Mr. Eckert sent a video w his support for collector's.
Well, another excellently handled and ran event is now behind us. Matchbox is committed to collector’s more so now than ever before. We were very well received by the current Matchbox Team..

Financial Report for 2006!
Year To Date Sales for 2007 are up roughly 34% compared to the first half of 2006! Diecast sales are up over 65%!
Currently only about 1,500 Wal-Marts currently have MB listed, this will expand to 2,800 stores for Spring 08
The Royal Mail liscence is in finalization and won’t be expected until well into 2008.

I know ya’ll have been waiting with baited breath wanting to know all about what lies in store for us in 2008. Here is the much anticipated report for Matchbox 2008:
1-100 Core Line -
The range is being expanded to include 100 models + 25 recolours. 10 segments of 10.
18 new tools, 2 modifications were announced for 2008, but as per request fm The Matchbox Team, The list is coming soon, sometime in the November/December 2007 timeline. Ya’ll will like what is coming soon. The set list will also be revealed at a later time.
2007 updates is that the Bentley is currently en route fm Bangkok, Thailand to El Segundo, Ca. and will not be available until September 2007.
For 2008 there are 2 new wheels due, a classical disc, think the current tristat rim but w a disc top. A new 6sp Utility wheel in the theme of the current utlity wheel.
The Emerald Green trilogy of models is due soon, to celebrate the 55th Anniversary of Matchbox, the team has decided to commemorate this special event by making 1 model in each of it’s 3 segments done up in a special, non limited Emerald Green colouring, 1 for Real, model identified as the MB 714 Lexus GS 430, The other 2 are the MB 7713 Austin Mini Panel Van & MB 720 72 Ford Bronco 4x4.
There are 5 new lightbars for police and EMS vehicles in development.
Collector Ranges -
SuperFast is on a temporary hiatus fm stores while the distribution ordeal gets situated w them.
For 2008, Superfast will see a new packaging execution, and will be exclusive to one major retailer, yet to be determined. The Best Of British Series will continue w a second set of 12 due soon. The SuperFast America Series, positioned at the $2 price point due in stores stateside in a couple of months.

These are on a hiatus for 2008 while new sets get designed and tooled up.
Pop - Up Playsets -
These have been a resounding success in the markets where it is currently being sold in. More markets are looking to add this to their stock lists and shelf spaces.
The pricepoints are as follows:
$6 - Mini - these 90 degree opening minisets are a big hit. Expect more in more themes
$12 The Classic Sets, these 180 degree opening sets are larger then the Mini’s, but just as fun,
$17 - Deluxe Set - These 180 degree opening sets are larger then the Classic, but provide more surface area to play w.
$20 - Light & Sound, in development now, these sets are the same size as the Deluxe, but they produce light and soun.
$30 - The 360 degree, full opening sets offer a pleuthora of fun for hours of fun and entertainment.
Battle Kings -
These slow sellers fm the start now have begun to pick up steadily and as a result of which the line is being expanded to include a full size playset. When you fire the provided projectile into it, it, “explodes” like a real military bases.
Holiday Sets —
Dino Eggs will continue as scheduled. Coal Cars will continue as scheduled. Halloween Models will continue
Models Of Yesteryear Series -This range of classical models is on a temporary hiatus due to lack of retailer interest but, other avenues are being explored to sell this range.
Convoys -
No new tools for 2008, but the line will continue. The 2009 direction for the range is being relooked . There are talks of adding multi axle, larger utility vehicles to the range. Rig Collectors need not worry!
Skybusters -
The aircraft range will continue w the addition of 4 as yet to be confirmed liscences and the addition of 2 new commercial aircraft as yet confirmed, both to be revealed at a later date once everything is finalized.
Mom & Pop tiny outlets spots/Hobby Shops/Internet Retailers-
Matchbox is committed to keeping these smaller shops stocked w the latest products.
Walgreen’s Exclusive 3 packs -
A series of Licensed 3 packs w all exclusive models due in Walgreen’s this fall.
Quarter 3 2007 MB/Burger King, II-
This fast food exclusive range will have 12 models in total, free w a Big Kids Meal or $2 individually. Available everywhere BUT North America.
2008 will be yet another cool year w many surprises along the way.
