Has anyone had the chance to try out the new Team Checkpoint TC 1030 charger? Read the article on it (in rc driver) and seems like it could be a nice unit to have. Priced right too!

It is an awesome unit to have, it does just about anything you need and is priced right! A good investment that is for sure.

Well, if it ain't the "Great White Meat"!!! LOL Couldn't pass that up! Seriously thinking about picking one up. Sounds like it should do an awesome job. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/images/icons/icon10.gif

It looks just like the ICE charger, is there any Diff.

From what I gather, it discharges up to 30A pulse. It also has a deadshort discharge option. Otherwise, it's pretty much an ICE except for the color. http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/images/icons/icon5.gif

Check out their website for full details.

I've been using mine for 3 weeks now for lipo. Works great. The difference between the Ice and Checkpoint is that Checkpoint has the blue backlit screen and discharges up to 30a other than that its the same unit. I went with the Checkpoint for those two reasons but have not used the discharge feature. There's no need to discharge lipos

Sounds like pretty good bang for the buck, I think. I think the deadshort feature is something I'd like to try for awhile.

I have one and you get a lot of bang for your buck.
up to 10 amp discharge linear (adjustable in the tenths), then 20 or 30amp pulse discharge. Charge rates up to ten amps in .1 increments. A motor break in feature with a 3 step option, and adjustable voltage.

You can also charge by: linear, reflex, or repeak. It has a cycle feature that will allow you to cycle your cells up to 10 times with a 1-30min cool down feature to keep your packs cool.

With this thing I don't see any point in buying a DPD discharger, unless I'm missing something. I AM new to electric, though. Was a nitro guy, but one more flame out and I was going to have to make an appointment with DR. Phil! :hat:

With the DPD and DTX by Much More, it takes every cell down the same. By just using the Checpoint or any discharging charger it takes the whole pack down and not each cell.

That works for me, we run spec packs anyway. Other than that any advantages? Thanks

Also noticed that the ICE only charges up to 8 Amps. Checkpoint goes up to 10Amps. Not many try charging that high anyway. Gonna give one a try. Thanks guys for all the input and feedback!http://www.hobbytalk.com/bbs1/images/icons/icon10.gif

I assume it does need a power supply (DC charger only). But as a high-quality charger-discharger ,I'd take it right now.

It does require a power supply.
