The Chrysler Newport dual cowl Phaeton was used in the 1941 Indianapolis 500. This is another model made by Brooklin. There were six Chrysler Newport dual cowl Phaetons made, and actress Lana Turner owned one.

I have that version too Tom. I should have taken a pic of both of them together.

Why does it have 2 windshields?

Because it's a dual cowl Phaeton.

ohhh... Thanks for the answer STUTZ! I have never seen a car with 2 windshields. Do they make these dual phaeton things anymore?

Most were made in the late 1920's and into the 1930's. It was rare to see one like this car in the 1940's.

Duesenbergs are the best example of a car with two windscreens.

Thanks!

You're welcome Jason.

I'll see if I can find a Duesenberg that's packed away in a box somewhere and post a few pics. This may take awhile. :p

Yep, the yellow car is Tom's.

I have the yellow car too, but I didn't post a pic of it.
