yokman 07-23-2007, 05:16 PM this format sounds very cool to me.wish it wasnt so far away.
I agree the format this year sounds very interesting and hopefully lots of fun. Good Idea Danny.
Yokman, it's not that far, about 7.5 hours from Ft. Wayne and no chance of lake-effect snow.
yokman 07-23-2007, 07:42 PM :( i am 2 hours south of Ft wayne.

It’s ok to leave the state of Indiana, ;) besides, you and your brother "Jason" dodge a bullet in 13.5 at new castle "your house", you missed the race at tri-clone "my house", so let’s get ur done in Iowa. if will and Jon go you 4 could get a group rate on a short bus for the drive, I’ll have a cold glass of Wisconsin milk ready for you guys when you get there....lol  j/k
Sonny B 07-23-2007, 11:23 PM Yok for what it's worth its an easy drive across 74 to 80. Shoud take you just over 5hrs from Indy.
SDL98 07-24-2007, 12:31 AM WOW This sounds great Danny can't wait, If you haven't been to Storm Steel it's a great fast n fun track to run on lots of room to pass should be a great time.
Danny B 07-24-2007, 10:00 AM this format sounds very cool to me.wish it wasnt so far away.
Dude, the track is right next to the (.)(.) bar lol Plus the ASA boys are in town that weekend.
But seriously, if you are looking at coming to this race. Get your hotel rooms now. Kelm!
You want your hotel to be on 33rd Ave SW, there is at least half a dozen hotels within 5 min of the track. Lots of places to eat. Couple good shopping malls for the wives. All relatively close.

So, how is that going to work with the motors for the Challenge? You going to hand out new ones to the people from the "other" class from what the motor is being ran for that segment? If I was any good I would stay Saturday night after we get done at the downs with the ASA car and run Sunday but I suck so I will just go home...or maybe to the (.)(.) bar with you all!!!! Wanna sponsor me clemnut?
crisis641 07-24-2007, 05:14 PM I won't be able to afford that, i gotta buy a new 13.5 motor for the KOTH challenge
pmsimkins 07-24-2007, 05:17 PM I'm sure enough guys have both motors and backup motors that everybody will be able to borrow whatever motor they need.
Anyway, cool idea Danny! Wish I would still be in this half of the country so I could run too.
Who cares about the racing, I meant sponsor me at the club, you know I will put on a good show!! I am at least more fun there than Danny ever has been and I don't smoke!!
Danny B 07-25-2007, 08:10 AM So, how is that going to work with the motors for the Challenge? You going to hand out new ones to the people from the "other" class from what the motor is being ran for that segment?
I'm working on getting a coulpe extra of each type of motor just in case someone that makes the challenge doesn't have both types of motors.
Danny B 07-25-2007, 08:13 AM I won't be able to afford that, i gotta buy a new 13.5 motor for the KOTH challenge
Provided you are in the Top 4...
haysreeling 07-25-2007, 09:17 AM .....
Hays Jr 07-25-2007, 09:18 AM Provided you are in the Top 4...
Ouch dem sounds like fightin' words.
I will try to make this race but I think we already planned my friends bachealor pary (drunken fishing trip) for that weekend. There will be a few Triclone guys heading out that way I'm sure.
Danny,
Our summer series is tied 1-1, we need a tie breaker hahaha.
crisis641 07-25-2007, 09:35 AM Provided you are in the Top 4...
Well if i'm not in the top 4 then you won't be in the top 4 since you'll be behind me:dude:
Big time ouch there!!! I might have to take a break from working on the big car and come out to the little car track and see this battle!! I bet Mike C will still have DB covered on his home track, time for a new KOTH Champion.....
The Track has been re-sealed, re-striped and looks great, should be some very good racing and lots of fun.
MK Race 07-27-2007, 05:08 PM Hurry and get the Motel 6, just minutes from the track. $50 a night.
Super 8 is almost $100 a night.
wacko 07-27-2007, 09:38 PM man Danny you guys are making this race pretty sweet, its got everything: cool format, (.)(.) bar, and money...only downfall is it is so far away.
MK Race 07-27-2007, 11:14 PM Last weekend we traveled 6 1/2 to 7 hours to go to the Tri-Clone and had a great time. This is just a short 4 hours for us and will be as good as the BRL race at the Tri-Clone.
Great track, great people.
Danny B 07-29-2007, 06:28 AM First race on the new sealer was awesome. We had our largest car count this season and the 13.5 and 4300 track records feel by considerable margins.
Big ups to Dave Kleinschrodt for his TQ/Win/Track Records 58 5:00.6 Dave also ran the same time in the main from a heads up start.
Some no talent, hack ran 63 5:00.6 in 4300 and backed it up with the same time from a heads up start as well. Props to Phil B. on the same lap. Hopefully, nothing was hurt too bad in the wreck in the main.
MK Race 07-29-2007, 11:43 AM Sounds good, wish I could have made this one.I will make the Aug. 11th race for sure.
I looked at the IROAR site to check results. That's funny, I thought you were talking about somebody else.
crisis641 07-30-2007, 09:13 AM So when the fast guys show up for the KOTH we should be well into the 64 lap bracket is what your saying? Don't worry, i'll be putting some real front axles on for that race, not those other POS's.
Danny B 07-30-2007, 11:43 AM Last time I checked you had to Show Up in order to Show someone up!
crisis641 07-30-2007, 12:16 PM Yeah I heard your dad was asking where i was so you guys would know how far off you were. I'll be there for the big show, don't you worry.
WOW!! This could be exciting!! Mike C you need to run your 65 5:02 in the first round and then come to the big track so I can have some crew help!!! You can go back after we qualify!!!
crisis641 07-30-2007, 03:25 PM Just as long as i'm back for the KOTH challenge that might work.
Danny B 07-30-2007, 05:35 PM :o all the talk is boring me:o
haysreeling 07-30-2007, 05:53 PM Danny, if you're bored maybe you can try something novel like GO BACK TO WORK!!
See you in Sept, unless you come this weekend, Sully, Grif and Jason had big smiles on their face running 13.5 Sat night as they were blocking and banging each other. I thought I saw a frown on Corey's face because he wasn't faster than them!! Now the Mad Professor, (who informed me this morning, his 87th birthday,he found 3 gray hairs on his sack), has his car all torn apart and is putting his 49:03.629 setup back on.
Yeah, you kids these days are easy to bore, go play a video game or something to keep sharp; you will need it.
Hate to break it to you Hays Jr but he ISN'T going to actually go back to work!!!
Danny B 07-31-2007, 09:55 AM Actually, I was already off work. Unlike right now when I'm milking the 5 min. before morning break. hahaha.
What you meant to say is you showed up at 8:55 and figured what the heck it is almost break time so I won't get anything started yet...
SDL98 08-04-2007, 10:42 PM Cuious to see who all is going to this race and what class you will be running. Track should be very fast.
I'll be there and I may try both 13.5 and 10.5, I'll just see how it goes next weekend.
I'll be there, running 4300.
SDL98 08-09-2007, 12:45 AM Glad to hear your coming Griff tell Lloyd to come down here too.
Danny B 08-10-2007, 08:15 AM This Saturday is the last chance to tune-up before the KotH race.
Danny B 08-14-2007, 04:11 PM The purse is up to $250 for the King of the Hill Challenge.
I'd like to thank Lefthander R/C and John's BSR Racing Tires for donating some Door Prizes.
Also Novak will be sending some loaner motors for the Challenge participants that may not have a 13.5 or 4300 motor.
crisis641 08-14-2007, 04:46 PM Good news DB. This should be fun.
Glad to hear your coming Griff tell Lloyd to come down here too.
I guess I can drag him along this time......
MK Race 08-22-2007, 11:02 PM I booked 2 rooms for that Saturday, but it looks like I might just need 1.
Mark #10 08-22-2007, 11:57 PM I booked 2 rooms for that Saturday, but it looks like I might just need 1.
What????? Not gonna be a full "KB" racing effort?
Danny B 08-23-2007, 10:59 AM Looks like it's about 1 week away from the King of the Hill race!
MK Race 08-23-2007, 11:46 PM What????? Not gonna be a full "KB" racing effort?
Come on out play Mark. Haven't seen the Steiner Twins and the White Boy in a while. I guess you've been playing with your other toys.:D
Mark #10 08-25-2007, 02:06 AM Come on out play Mark. Haven't seen the Steiner Twins and the White Boy in a while. I guess you've been playing with your other toys.:D
It misses You, Bob & Rick......real bad!!
Mark you should put a car together and come and give it a try. Looks like a really good field and so far mother nature appears to be cooperating. We could have as many as 30 entries and Danny has added a couple of things to the program that should be really fun.
crisis641 08-28-2007, 02:04 PM Yes this race will be awesome. Don't forget that after the RC races get done everyone can come down to Hawkeye Downs and watch the ASA Late Models race that starts at 9.
