I'm new to small engine hobbying and would appreciate any help. thanks
I bought a pair of b&s model 60102 2hp (horizantal shaft) engines. now the first ( 60102 404-01 78011201) was easy to date because it's code was 78111201.... year 78 month jan day 12 from plant #1. However on the second the numbers read (60102 0182 02 6511153)... the odd part about the second engine is above the numbers it didn't have model type and code written as in my first, plus there was no dash between the first series of type numbers and the last 2 (i.e. 0182 02) and last the code only has 7 digits where my first had 8.
besides all that does anyone know what the type numbers relate to exactly. i know one is colour the other is mechanical parts but i'd like to know what number means what colour so on and so forth.
